LandSharkPoker.com Overview
can be found on the Everleaf Gaming network. This lesser-known poker network is pretty new and one thing it lacks currently is players. However, they still accept all US players and, with their attractive promotions and software, they should see some growth over the course of the year.
LandShark Poker offers all players FL/NL/PL Hold'em, Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo, and FL 7 Card Stud. The stakes offered start at $.05/$.10 and go up as high as $100/$200. However, being on such a small network, traffic is quite limited.
Sit and Go stakes range from $.10 + $.01 up to $400 + $8, but don't expect to multi-table any limit above the $5 level. We hardly ever saw any SnG action above $22 running, and most of the people are just donking around chips in the micro stakes. LandShark offers full (10 player), shorthanded (6 Max), or heads-up for the SnGs.
The tournament selection at LandSharkPoker is also very limited. Almost all tournaments offered are $11 or less and if 100 people register that would be considered a large player base for LandShark.
As for their Poker Points, the only thing they are currently useful for is earning bonuses or registering in special freerolls. Their weekly $1500 freeroll (mentioned above) can really earn you some extra cash, as not many people usually play (about around 100) and it seems pretty soft.
Land Shark Poker's Software Interface/Usability
For the most part, we liked the software at . Starting off with the lobby, it is pretty plain but who needs a flashy lobby? It is direct and to the point, nothing too crammed, and it is very easy to locate where you want to go. If you go to Options – Display All Options, you will find some customizable settings for game play. You can choose between 6 different languages, turn on/off the sounds (and we highly recommend taking dealer speech off!), change the deck, change or turn off avatars, and adjust animations. Pretty much the only settings you can adjust are the same basic stuff you will see at every online poker room. One thing we liked about the lobby was the ‘Most Popular’ tab which shows the cash tables that have the most people playing at them.
The tables available are 10-max full ring, 6-max shorthanded or heads-up one on one. While playing, the tables have life-like avatars and you can select one that you prefer. You can choose to turn them off and it makes the table look a lot less cluttered, especially at full ring. Players have plenty of time to make decisions, 20 seconds per betting round, but the site lacks a time bank. This can be frustrating if facing a big call, but isn't too bad. The raise bar is a touch sensitive; by clicking once on the raise bar, it increases your bet by 1 big blind. This makes things easier for the aggressive bettor.
Play seems decently fast compared to other sites, which is nice. However, there can be a lag after a hand if someone loses their stack, as the software holds in order to allow them to rebuy. It would be nice to see an auto-rebuy feature or something. After you bust, reloading or topping up is very easy, just click rebuy and add to your stack.
There is an instant hand history viewer, which is nice. You just have to click on ‘Previous’ in the upper right hand corner which will pop up a new window displaying everyone’s hand and the flop/turn/river. You can also save HH files to your computer for later review. Unfortunately, Poker Tracker does not support the Land Shark Poker HH files.
If you're into the tournament scene, it is easy to find your favorite contest. Each tournament has its own lobby, which opens when double-clicking on it in the main lobby. This is great, but it isn't the same for Sit and Goes. When you double-click on a Sit and Go tournament, it brings up the actual table like a cash game. Some might find this slightly annoying and prefer SnGs to have their own lobby like other tournaments.
Land Shark Poker.com Poker Room Action
Although is making the attempt to grow (with their bonuses, etc.), it still remains on a very small network and action is going to be limited. However, it is about twice the size of just a year ago. As more people are looking for a nice bonus to clear and a new source of action, this may be a good site to move to.
Most of the action is going to be at the No-limit Hold'em tables with the micro/small stakes, say up to $1/$2. However, during the afternoon on the east coast there are a few games running even up to $5/$10 or $10/$20.
Omaha and Stud tables are pretty limited, with only a few games running. Omaha traffic has definitely picked up in the past year however, especially at the micro-stakes. There are usually games running up to $.25/$.50 with maybe 1 table of $.50/$1.
The tournament selection at LandShark Poker is also quite limited. Again though, they have come a long way since our last review over a year ago. They have upped the guarantee on their weekly rebuy tournament from $3000 to $4000 ($25 + $2.50) and added a weekly $10,000 guarantee tournament for $50 +$5. These can be a really good value when the registration is low, but they have a minimum of 25 entrants placed on their guarantee tournaments or the tournament gets canceled.
Land Shark Poker's Ease of Game, Ease of Making Money, Fish Rating
Looking for fish? Look no farther than . Even though they may have some traffic problems, one thing you don't have to worry about are those land sharks. Almost everyone you come across will be whales just waiting to donate their deposits to you. It is nearly impossible to table select, but that doesn't really matter since it's usually going to be a table full of fish.

LandSharkPoker.com Customer and Technical Support
's support desk was so-so. We’ve used their live chat feature on a few occasions and there was always a representative within moments to answer our questions. However, they didn't always know the correct answer to some problems and instructed us to e-mail the support desk so it would be forwarded to a manager. They forewarned that e-mails can take up to 24 hours to be answered, not including weekends. So if you had a problem on Friday, you might not get help until Monday, which can be very annoying.
If you need to contact their support desk, you can try the live chat on their website, or e-mail them directly.
