Beats (Suck):

Newer room without much traffic or action, especially for higher limits. Tournaments are very small. Player Points are only used for freerolls, not other real value to them.

can be found on the Everleaf Gaming network. This lesser known poker network is pretty new, and one thing it lacks currently is players. However, they still accepts all US players and with their attractive promotions and software, they should see some growth over the course of the year.

LandShark Poker offers all players FL/NL/PL Hold'em, Omaha, and Omaha Hi/Lo, and FL 7 Card Stud. The stakes offered start at $.05 - $.10, up to as high as $50 - $100. However, as I said before, traffic is really limited. Omaha/Stud tables are totally deserted, hardly ever with even 1 table running. As for NLHE, there are usually only about 25 active tables. Of these, most are $.25 - $.50 and below. The highest stakes I ever saw running was one table of $2 - $4.

Sit and Gos range from $.10 + $.01 up to $400 + $8, but don't expect to multi-table any limit above the $5 level. I hardly ever saw any SnG's above $22 running, and most of the people are just donking around chips in the micro stakes. LandShark offers Full (10 player), Shorthanded (6 Max), or heads up for the SnGs.

The tournament selection at is also very limited. Almost all tournaments offered are $11 or less, and if 50 people register that would be considered a large player base for LandShark. The largest MTT currently offered is their weekly $25 + $3, which is $3000 guaranteed. They also offer many $1, $2, $5, and $10 daily. There are also many freerolls offered at LandShark Poker, including $50 freerolls three times daily in addition to $100 and $200 which use Poker Points to enter. Their large weekly freeroll is every Sunday, which has a $1500 prize pool and costs 500 Poker Points to enter.

As for their Poker Points, the only thing they are currently used for earning bonuses or registering for special freerolls. Their weekly $1500 freeroll (mentioned above) can really earn you some extra cash, as not many people usually play (about around 100) and seems pretty soft.

For the most part, I liked the software at . Starting off with the lobby, it is pretty plain but who needs a flashy lobby? It is direct and to the point, nothing to too crammed and it is very easy to locate where you want to go. If you go to Options – Display All Options, you will find some customizable settings for game play. You can choose between 6 different languages, turn on/off the sounds (and I highly recommend taking dealer speech off!), change the deck, change or turn off avatars, and adjust animations. Pretty much the only settings you can adjust are just basic stuff you will see at every online poker room. One thing I liked about the lobby was the Most Popular tab which shows the cash tables that have the most people playing at them.

The tables available are 10 max full ring, 6 max shorthanded or heads up one on one. While playing, the tables have life like avatars and you can select any that you choose. I just chose to turn them off, and it made the table look a lot less cluttered, especially at full ring. I found that people have plenty of time to make decisions, 20 seconds per betting round, but the site lacks a time bank. This can be frustrating if facing a big call, but isn't too bad. The raise bar is touch sensitive, and this is a HUGE plus for me while playing at rooms. What I mean by this is by clicking once on the raise bar, it increases your bet by 1 big blind. Just makes things easier.

Play seems decently fast compared to other sites which is nice. However, there can be a lag after a hand if someone loses their stack waiting for them to rebuy. It would be nice to see an auto rebuy feature or something. After you bust, reloading or topping up is very easy, just click rebuy and add to your stack.

There is an instant hand history viewer, which is nice. You just have to click on previous in the upper right hand corner which will pop up a new window displaying everyones hand and the flop/turn/river. You can also save HH files to your computer to review later. Unfortunately, Poker Tracker does not support the Land Shark Poker HH files.

If you're into the tournament scene, it is easy to find your favorite tournament. Each tournament has its own lobby, which opens when double clicking on it in the main lobby. This is great, BUT it isn't the same for sit and gos. When you double click on a sit and go tournament, it brings up the actual table like a cash game. I just found this slightly annoying and like when SnGs have their own lobby like other tournaments.

It has been said a few times throughout this review, but needs to be mentioned again. 's action is basically non-existent. The most players I've ever seen connected at once was around 500, and that is very small for the online world. You can play up to 8 tables at once, but I doubt you will be able to find 8 tables of the same limit running. I really hope LandShark Poker can use its bonus offerings and start getting their name out there, because it is a nice poker room. Just as of right now (April 2008) it is a new and very small poker room, so don't be surprised if when you register you can't find many tables to play.

's support desk was so-so. I had used their live chat feature on a few occasions, and there was always a representative within moments to answer my questions. However, they didn't always know the correct answer to some problems and instructed me to e-mail their support desk to be forwarded to their manager. They said e-mails can take up to 24 hours to be answered, not including weekends. So if you had a problem on Friday, you might not get help until Monday, which can be very annoying. If you need to contact their support desk, you can try the live chat on their website, or e-mail them directly:

E-mail: support@landsharkpoker.com

Looking for fish? Look no farther than Land Shark Poker. Even though they may have some traffic problems, one thing you don't have to worry about are those land sharks. Almost everyone you come across will be whales just waiting to donate to you their deposits. It is nearly impossible to table select, but that doesn't really matter since it's usually going to be a table full of fish.

There are many great bonuses offered at . They aren't shy about giving away money, because you have many options to choose from! For all of these bonuses, make sure you use the Land Shark Poker Bonus Code FTR3 when making your deposit. First off, exclusive only to FTR members, is the $3 free no deposit bonus! This is a special bonus for Flop Turn River members, so make sure you sign up with the links on this page. Here are the instructions for the $3 free bonus:

1. Sign up using the links on this page.
2. E-mail customer support at promos@landsharkpoker.com with your screen name, signup e-mail, and mention the FTR3 bonus code.
3. LandShark Poker will look up your screen name, verify your account, and credit you with $3 free!

Then log in and play! It's that simple, and is a great way to try out a new site without having to put up your own money. The funds will appear in your account in 24 – 48 hours after you send the e-mail. Please note, step 2 is crucial as there is no where to enter the bonus code without making a deposit! If you take part in this free money bonus, you have to earn at least 45 Poker Points before requesting a withdrawal.

Once you're done testing their site with the free $3, and want to make some more money, LandShark also offers an initial deposit bonus of 200% up to $1000! So if you have $500 laying around, toss it onto LandShark and they will give you an extra $1000. All you have to do is earn 12x the bonus amount in Poker Points. So for the full $1000, that's 12,000 Poker Points. Poker Points are earned at the rate of 1 point for every 10 cents in rake. So if you play a pot that has a $1.50 rake, everyone involved in the pot will collect 15 points. You also earn 1 point for every $.10 in tournament fees.

Cleared the $3 free and the $1000 initial deposit bonus? Well, there is more for you still! LandShark Poker also offers all of its members a 50% up to $200 reload bonus! This is earned the same way as the first bonus, 12x the amount in Poker Points. Both bonuses must be earned in 60 days or will expire.
