are one best known gambling brand names in the world, and with this are Europe’s biggest online card room. Ladbrokes were previously with Prima Network, however they are now no longer part of any network as they now provide their own players. They use Microgaming software for their traditional 2D poker room which has been previously noted as user being very user friendly, but nothing to shout about.

However, Ladbrokes have recently introduced a new 3D poker client using Playwise software, where players can now have the option of playing the same games but with a little added flavor.

With being such a huge brand name, as expected, they accept deposits via a number of ways, which include all major credit and debit cards- Visa, Delta, MasterCard, Solo, and also via Western Union, BankTransfer, PayPal and UKash.

At present, US players are still not permitted to play on this site with no current indication of when this will be lifted.

The new 3D poker software at surprisingly runs very well, given the fact that the file took me around 25 minutes (!) to download via a standard DSL connection. You can now create your own character to play with, and tailor his/her looks to either match yourself, or perhaps your ideal online alter-ego. I myself decided to go for the alternative look, as this allows players to be a bit more creative and adds to the fun of it.

You can now create your own character to play with, and tailor his/her looks to either match yourself, or perhaps your own ideal online alter-ego.  I myself decided to go for the alternative look, as this allows players to be a bit more creative and adds to the fun of it.  With this, players can choose to display real human-like emotions on the table, for example if you are on tilt from a bad beat, then you can express your dissatisfaction by taunting opponents with fish-like movements!

Players can now also chat together for real using the VoIP (Voice over internet protocol) function, which all adds to the 3D experience. This is great for all those who enjoy a bit of speech play. This could even pave the way for the next online Tony G, or Scotty Nguyen where you can now make speeches such as “I’m all in baby!”.

One useful addition is the live poker stats which they offer, where draw percentages, pot odds and best hand indicator can be displayed.

As provide their own pool of players rather than being attached to a network, the traffic is understandably less than the big poker rooms like Full Tilt or Pokerstars.  During peak periods there are normally 1,500 real money players for the cash games, and 6,000 players for the tournaments.  Having played with Ladbrokes for some years, it'd be fair to say that players often have to wait for STT's to fill up.  This is similar with the cash games, on a 6 handed $1/2 cash game NL, at peak times, you will often be limited to a choice of just 6-7 tables.  10 handed cash games tend to be fairly scarce, with only one normally being active.

The support at is available 24/7 via email, live online help and by telephone.  They have specialized departments for all aspects of Customer Care and can also handle queries in all languages, although they may require time for translation.  In my dealings with Ladbrokes, they appeared to be very helpful and efficient, and the best thing is that no matter what time you call them, there is always someone there to help.

Having played with for around 4 years, my experience was indeed a profitable one with some great cash game results along with several MTT wins which includes a trip to the Ladbrokes Caribbean Poker Cruise 2008.  I have now switched to Pokerstars and Fulltilt due to the lack of traffic and attractive MTT's, and with this, I have certainly noticed a big difference in the style of play between Ladbrokes' players and on FT, Pokerstars.

Ladbrokes' player base has a very heavy Scandinavian influence, and with that, they have some of the loosest tables in online poker. In a 6 handed NL $1/2 cash game, the flop percentages are often between 45-60%, with average pots being $40 plus. Whereas for the same game on Pokerstars, you will generally see much tighter games where flop percentages are typically between 10-30%, and pots are also around $10-30. If you are a competent poker player then loose tables can generally be viewed as a good thing, as you’re more likely to get paid off if you play your cards right. Obviously, with the nature of these tables, you must be prepared to encounter the volatility that they may bring but overall, I feel that the competition is softer in Ladbroke’s player fields where there is money to be made.

$500 signup bonus- At the moment, you can capitalize on 100% Signup bonus of up to $500. All that you require is to accumulate 30 player points per bonus dollar within one calendar month. If you play regular cash games, then this should be fairly easy to achieve.

30% Cash back for player points- This works very similar to a rakeback scheme, where players receive up to 30% cash back should they:
- Accumulate over 25,000 Player Points and receive 30% Cash Back - Accumulate 10,000 to 24,999 Player Points and claim your 25% Cash Back - Accumulate 5,000 to 9,999 Player Points and claim your 20% Cash Back

All this must be accumulated within the monthly qualifying period, where players must apply for the cash back through the online form on the Ladbrokes website.

Overall, Ladbrokes have gone from being a rather dated poker room, to one leading poker rooms in terms of offering players a 3-Dimensional poker experience. Poker players can now capitalize on making speech plays, or can even give off false tells by scratching their noses! The 3D option is a very welcome one, and it appears that this is where online poker will be heading in the future.

Ladbrokes has a 25% up to $100 bonus (deposit $400 for max) with 500 contributed raked hands requiremtent. A nice one (took me ~1500 hands to clear), but I had to contact customer support to get it, the claim thing didn't work. There are not a lot of NL20 and NL30 players here, but in general they are loose or weak-tight. Only ~5 full ring tables tables during primetime (20:00 GMT), mostly 6max. Ladbrokes is a Prima skin, so the software is decent and fully customizable.

Just a note to add to the review. Bonus conditions are indeed quite nice, but not that nice as they are listed here. 5 raked hands per bonus $1 released is nice, but if you read all the terms and conditions, only hands where you commited to the pot, count towards the bonus! Polycarpus
