• NUTS: Harrah's Casino is a powerhouse when it comes to brick and mortar casinos and poker rooms. They have been in business for over 70 years and have major resorts all over the United States. Harrah's venture into the online poker world, with their announced WSOP Online Poker Room is a huge step for online poker in the US. Such a large land base casino venturing into online poker could create a whole new market and perhaps even bring back the poker boom.
  
  Harrah's has started to throw its full support, and funding, behind legalizing online poker in the United States. The proposed bill, Consumer Protection and Enforcement Act of 2009, would permit certain licensed operators to accept US players, with Harrah's WSOP being one of them. Harrah's has been rallying for this bill, and has spent over $400,000 pushing it. If the bill passes, Harrah's Online Poker Room is sure to be a hit in the US. Chances are other big name B&M casinos will also start up their own online poker sites.
  
  Harrah's has launched a new division called Harrah's Interactive Entertainment, which oversees Harrah's online launch and the taking over of the WSOP. This WSOP move is very big news. They have even hired former PartyGaming executive Mitch Garber to to direct the new online division and Harrah's WSOP.
