G2G Poker.com Review
has recently moved to the Merge Gaming Network, which is one of the newer poker networks online today. This was a very good step in the right direction as their player base and action has significantly increased! G2G also still accepts US players from all locations!
When I had first reviewed G2G Poker, I thought it was a site that someday might be able to see some growth. The action was very bad and anything about 100nl was deserted. Well, that time has come and it has seen some growth. I am now upgrading this review because of their move from the dead DGS network to the Merge Gaming Network. They now have an average of around 4,000 people connected, and this number can reach as high as 9,000 during peak hours. This is great and now even midstakes players should be able to find a game for their bankroll. This growth is great, but it's still nowhere near the giants everyone knows of today. Don't be discouraged though, you can still find 15-20 full tables (mostly 6 Max) up to 200nl, with the action gradually decreasing moving higher. I even saw a few $10 - $20 tables running, but none higher.
At G2G Poker you will find limit, no-limit, and pot-limit Hold'em, Omaha, and Omaha Hi/Lo. You will also see a new addition of other games, such as Badugi poker, 2-7 lowball, Ace to 5, 5 Card Stud, 5 Card Draw, Razz, 7 Card Stud, and HORSE. These games are new as they recently switched networks, and are a great addition. Of the players connected, you will see nearly all of them at the no-limit hold'em tables. During the evening on a weekend, I saw only 6 table of other games being played (which were micro limits). The stakes people are playing varies on the time of day and number of players connected, but most are playing low stakes. There usually are plenty of $1/$2 and lower tables running, and a few $2/$4 and up. The high stakes tables are currently deserted, so if you like playing stakes above $2/$4 you may have trouble finding a game.
Sit & Go and multi-table tournaments have seen much improvement as well. A few months back the SnG games were basically nonexistent throughout all limits. However, now they have a pretty nice player base from the $2 - $22 level. You can also find about 4-5 $50 sngs running and a few occasional $100 games. If you are a low limit sng player you will have no problem multi-tabling. They have many different kind of SnGs offered, the most popular being heads up and turbo. They also offer Sit and Go satellites, which are basically a winner take all tournament for a ticket to a larger tournament. For example, their $2 + $.20 satellites have 5 players and award first place with an $11 ticket. G2G Poker also include the ability to create your own private sit & go tournaments built right into the software. This can be a lot of fun if you have your friends on the site as well, or to play that annoying donk in a heads up grudge match!
also offers regular freezeouts, shootouts, satellites and freerolls. Of the daily tournaments, they offer various $100 ($2 buyin), $550 ($3 buyin), $1000 ($11 buyin) guaranteed prize pools. Their largest is currently a $109 buyin with a $2,500 guaranteed prize pool. Some of these don't meet the guarantee just yet so there are some overlays you can take advantage of. Most of these tournaments see 100-200 players, and the highest stakes usually under 50. G2G Poker also offers a weekly $2,000 freeroll on Saturday's and a $10,000 freeroll every Sunday! In order to play you must earn 1,000 comps for Saturday or 2500 for Sunday during that week. They also host many (and by many I mean a TON) of other daily freerolls from $50 up to $1000. When creating your account you are also given a ticket to play as many $50 new player freerolls within 30 days, so if you don't have any money to deposit you can take advantage of the $3 free + these freerolls! You can bank some serious cash because the players are just terrible.

G2G Poker.com Software Interface/Usability
One of the reasons I said above that I think will start to see some growth is because of the software. There are some flaws and features they could add, but for the most part I loved it!
First off I think the lobby is very well organized and nice on the eyes. There is a lot going on, but the way it is all setup isn't distracting. You can access account, banking, promotions, and other features at the top (although most of these options opens a browser window – that is one of my biggest annoyances).
At the left side of the lobby you will find the ring games under Real Money, along with Sit & Go and Tournament below that. Everything is separated by tabs, and by selecting a specific category will make that selection come up on the right. For the most part I like this, however sometimes it locks up or freezes a bit, which can be annoying. For example, if I select Texas Hold'em, then click on Omaha, sometimes the Omaha tables don't load and I have to press on it a few more times. Just a minor inconvenience. If you select a cash table, you can see stats such as players per flop, average pot, and hands per hour.
You can also modify animations, sound, deck color and other various things. Some other good features are the instant resizing options. After pressing menu, you can change the size of the table to 50%, 80%, 90% or full size by pressing the correct button. This is a very nice feature, and even though you can't just resize the tables yourself it works just as well. One other thing I liked was the ability to show and fold, and you can even just select one card to show if you want to.
The overall feel of the game was good, everything was smooth and I didn't encounter any lockups or problems. However if there is one thing that was frustrating it would be how long each player is given on every round of betting. Each player has 30 seconds to make a decision preflop and every street postflop. For the most part this was alright, but sometimes it can get too long.
G2G Poker now includes an instant hand history viewer, which is a nice addition. Only problem is I am use to the text based displays, and through their software it is all in images. This was quite confusing at first, but it's definitely better than nothing. You can also save HH files to your computer, but I had some problems viewing them afterwards.
Currently there is no Poker Tracker support, which can be a let down, but no PT + HUD means it attracts more fish than sharks, which is a good thing.
All in all I like the software, and even though it lacks some things, that's not a bad thing.

G2GPoker Poker Room Action
Now this is one thing G2G currently lacks; action. On a Friday evening there was only 700 players online, and most of those were either idling or using play money. You are lucky to see 10 active nlhe tables, which is just not enough for an online poker site. The stakes of these few tables really varies, usually micro/low stakes, with an occasional $2/$4 game running. Since this room/network is pretty new we have to cut them some slack, but hopefully we see some growth in the near future.
1/29/08 Update: G2G Poker has moved to the Merge Gaming Network and their action has increased dramatically! They have gone from an average of 600 players connected to around 4200! If one of the reasons you never got around to trying G2G Poker was because of the lack of action, now is the a good time to finally give it a chance. Their mid-stake games have a lot more players now and it is much easier to find a game for all levels.

G2G Poker.com Customer and Technical Support
had an excellent support desk when I had dealt with them. If you select the cashier in the lobby, you will see the graphic on the side for live chat support. I used this a few times, and the representative I dealt with was very timely and professional. I never even had to wait in a queue (I assume it has something to do with a low player base though). I am very happy with my experience with G2G's support, and you can also contact them via e-mail if you prefer:

G2G Poker's Ease of Game, Ease of Making Money, Fish Rating
Well, the action is slim but the fish are plentiful. You can pretty much assume everyone you sit with is going to be a complete donk at , and I didn't see any real sharks to worry about. Part of this is because it is a new room and isn't very well known, but I think the bigger factor is like I mentioned earlier. If the room doesn't have all the features that the sharks want, it won't attract as many sharks. If you can play without needed a hud (a good player should be able to!) then you should be able to go without using Poker Tracker. I hope once the room gets more popular the fish to player ratio stays constant. |

G2GPoker Promotion Number and Bonus
There are a couple of bonuses you can take advantage of at
. Both of these bonuses use the G2GPoker Bonus Code FTR3. First off, if you don't have any money to deposit, your best option is the FTR exclusive $3 free bonus! That's right, G2G Poker will GIVE YOU $3 FREE just for signing up! Make sure you sign up through the links on this page because this bonus is exclusive for FTR members! Here are the steps for signing up with this bonus offer:
1. Sign up using the links on this page.
2. E-mail customer support at support@g2gpoker.com with your screen name and signup e-mail.
3. G2GPoker will look up your screen name, verify your account, and credit you with $3 free!
Then log into play! It's that simple, and is a great way to try out a new site without having to put up your own money. Please note, step 2 is crucial as there is no where to enter the bonus code without making a deposit.
G2G also offers a large first time deposit bonus of 200% up to $1000. If you make your first deposit $500 or more, you will receive and additional $1000! Not bad! You must enter the G2GPoker Bonus Code FTR3 when depositing. This bonus is released in increments of $20 for every 200 G2G Points that you earn (equivalent to $1 for every 10 points). Here is how G2G Points are earned:
A player earns points while playing at any real money games. Each hand you play with a minimum rake of $0.50, and each $1.00 Tournament Fee, you will have 1 point credited into your MPS Bonus Bank Account.
So after looking at the total number of points you need and how long it takes it earn this bonus, it makes it a little less appealing. Just to point out the numbers, the full $1000 bonus will require you to earn 10,000 G2G Points. If you're a micro/low stake or a tournament player, just stay away from this bonus. This bonus is not good for anyone under 100nl because the minimum rake amount is $.50. Although you could argue for grinding it out at 50nl, but it would be tough. Also this is a total crap shoot bonus for tournament players because $1 in fees equals 1 point, so you would have to pay $10,000 in tournament fees to clear! However, if your game is 50nl+ (preferably 100nl) this is a very nice bonus. Long but nice.
In addition to the $1000 bonus, G2G also offers a 50% up to $500 reload bonus. So in all, there is $1500 in bonus money that can be earned here! The reload bonus is earned exactly the same as the initial bonus, so you would have to earn 5000 more G2G Points. Each $20 increment must be collected within 30 days of each other – meaning, once you collect a $20 increment, you have 30 days to collect the next $20 increment. This will continue until (i) you have exhausted your Bonus Credit, or (ii) 30 days has elapsed without collecting a $20 increment.
This is some nice bonus money, and hopefully the action will pick up at the site. I say this because with the amount of people connected, it is nearly impossible to clear this.
