Tournament Rake Calculations:
No rake is received for tournament registration or entry fees.

Ring Game Rake Calculations:
Rakeback is earned whenever a player is dealt cards in a raked pot, regardless of whether the player actually plays their hand. If rake is generated in a hand, this is split equally among all players that are dealt cards (even if they simply fold preflop). Each player then receives 25% of their part of the rake.

For example, if the rake paid in a pot is $1 and ten people are dealt cards, this rake is divided by the ten players, which equals $0.10 each. You then receive 30% of this amount, which is $0.03.

The rakeback program on Fortune Poker is fairly standard and offers exactly what you would expect – 30% of your rake automatically transferred back in to your poker account at the start of each month for the previous months rake. 30% is largest amount on the Boss Media Network. Also, there are other Boss Network poker sites that offer no rakeback at all, so obviously if you like the network/interface, this is definitely a poker room to consider.

is a relatively new poker site. It is part of the large Boss Network which means there is a good solid user base already in existence.

In addition to Hold’Em, Fortune Poker offers Omaha, 7 card stud, and 5 card draw variants of poker. The usual no limit, pot limit and fixed limit game types are on offer, with a good range of sit & go and multi tables scheduled tournaments.

Financial options are processed through WebDollar. Depositing options are fairly limited, and allow Credit Card, Neteller, FirePay, Bank Transfer, PaySafeCard or Bank Draft / Check. Withdrawal options are also limited, allowing Card, Firepay, Neteller, Bank Transfer or Bank Draft. Withdrawals take anywhere between one and four business days to process.

The software is nice, but there is room for improvement. The lobby is looking a little dated and although all of the required information is there on screen, there are no special features or advanced options that you would find on many of the competitors these days. The friend (fish) finder is quite nice, but you just feel like there is something missing from the lobby and the whole experience leaves you feeling like they could have tried harder.

Too many currencies are displayed on the Fortune Poker lobby – when you are scrolling through tables and want to play at a 0.25/0.50 table, you then have the option of playing for dollars, euros, or “TRY” (?). Now I (and I expect most other players) don’t know how many dollars there are in a ‘TRY’. And like most other players, I really don’t care. Different tables have different flags against them as well, so when on a Euro table you can choose a German flag or any other country that happens to be there. This all seems a little pointless and complicates the table listings – most other sites just stick to one currency, and leave any currency exchanges or calculations down to the user, and that’s how everyone should do it. Trying to split the user base in to sub sections and pockets based on their flag or currency is not the way to go.

The actual tables are rather dated looking also. The graphics are ok, in fact they are quite nice, but the whole interface just seems a bit slow and clunky. The option to make your table full screen is nice, but I would have rather seen these development efforts been used to allow a “mini view” which isn’t available.

The best part of the table graphics is the circular colored countdown time around each person’s username – this is very nicely done and is much better than the counters on almost all of the other poker sites.

Overall, a nice simple client with no bugs that works well, but could do with brightening up and modernizing a little. The way I would describe it is that it’s like playing a computer game from the 1990’s that you used to love. You still like it, but you know there are better things available today.

is part of the Boss Poker Network, and shares a fairly large user base with the other skins. There are many larger sites out there, but there are also many much smaller sites around too – this is certainly a middle of the pack site.

Action is very evenly spread out across all of the game types (ie, non Hold’em) which is very unusual, and I expect that this is because of the nice way that the other poker game types are displayed on the lobby. They are not tucked away in some dark dirty corner of the site where players never venture. If you like Omaha, 7 card stud, or 5 card draw, there are always plenty of full tables and you might even find that you have to queue for a game of 5 card draw – something almost unheard of at other sites!

Action at the low limit tables is rife. Even at non-peak times you can be sure of finding several full tables with good stats. Once you are seated at a table, it’s very rare for the table to break or continuously have empty seats – most tables constantly have a queue of at least one or two people waiting to take any empty seats that may appear.

Action at the mid and higher level games is however almost non existent. At the time of writing, there were a couple of $1/$2 tables with a few players seated, but not one single person seated at any limit above these.

The same goes for the tournaments – at the very low level limits there is plenty of action to keep you busy, but move up to anything above a $10 or $20 buyin and you will have to wait a long time to get a game.

The customer support on Fortune Poker is second to none. It is absolutely superb. You have the option of live (in-client) support, web support, email support, telephone support, and I expect they would even accept a carrier pigeon if you happened to have access to one.

Email support is handled through a proper ticketing system – you can view the status of your ticket online and make updates to it as and when required, you don’t just fire an email off in to the ether and wait for a reply from “Dave”, only to send a follow up email an hour later and have to explain the whole thing again to “Jim”.

The Fortune Poker live support is excellent – you are told the average “answering time” so you know how long you are going to have to wait (which is usually around 60 seconds), and once in the chat you are given prompt helpful advice. A little icon at the top of the screen tells you what the service agent is doing, ie “reading your message” or “waiting for your next message”, so there is no awkward silence whilst you aren’t sure if they are waiting for you or vice versa. This is _extremely_ well done, and has obviously been created by somebody who has experience of using live chat systems their self. Other sites could learn a trick or two from these guys.

Absolutely full marks all round – you are never left wondering who to turn to in the event of an issue, there is always somebody there waiting to help no matter how wish to make contact.

The ease of making money on Fortune Poker and the rest of the Boss network is very good at the low limits. There are a lot of fish and poor players, so if you sit tight and wait for premium hands you get paid more often than not. Expect a high level of suckouts if you overplay TPTK though, there will usually just be too many people in the pot for you to win with a single pair and you really want to be looking for two pairs, a set, or higher before putting too much money in. People will chase inside straights and flushes with absolutely awful odds.

What lets the site down though is the lack of players at the mid and higher level limits. If you are happy grinding away with multiple $25nl tables open, this site would suit you. If however you prefer to play one or two tables at higher limits, you will either only find good players, or more often than not, simply no players at all.

has recently started adding some great bonuses and promotions for its members! In addition to the 30% rakeback which you will receive by signing up through FTR (explained above), you can take advantage of their 200% initial deposit bonus up to €1,000! This is one of the largest bonuses offered anywhere today, and is the max allowed on the Boss Network! Think of the money you will be earning with the deposit bonus + the rakeback! All you have to do is play real money games and earn FPPs. For every 280 FPPs you collect, you will release €10 until your full bonus amount is collected. For the entire €1,000, you have to earn 28,000 FPPs, do don't expect to earn this over night! This is quite the grind, especially for smaller staked players, so I highly recommend you are rolled for 100nl or higher. The bonus expires 60 days after your deposit, so start grinding quickly!

In addition to the initial deposit bonuses, Fortune Poker also offers reloads to its members. In April, they are running a promotion for 100% up to €500! This is earned the same way as the 200% up to €1,000, so you could potentially earn €1,500 in bonus money; plus all the rakeback while grinding!
