Nuts (Cool):

Official room endorsed by poker pro Johnny Chan, Java version available, sign up bonus of up to $1000, features online store. Mini tables allow you to play lots of tables on a small screen. Easily navigable interface. Growing player base. Ability to play in browser without downloading.

Beats (Suck):

Not many deposit methods. Doesn't feature the higher no limit games that frequent the biggest sites. No option to resize tables manually, only large or mini. No US Players allowed. Lack of promotions

is the home of renowned poker pro, Johnny Chan. Known as the Orient Express, this 10 time bracelet winner provides a face that gives this site its personality. Everywhere you look, you see Johnny Chan. You can even use him as 3D character at the tables! You can play in your web browser by itself, or you can play on a fully downloaded version. ChanPoker.com is extremely new; so one problem is the payment options as of now are very, very limited. You can only deposit via Neteller, Click2Pay, Visa, and Mastercard. This is sure to change in the future. ChanPoker.com is a member of the Ongame network, which gives it a fairly extensive player base. It averages about 4500 cash players at its peak during the day. Under the umbrella of the Ongame network, this site is sure to garner a lot of attention in the future.

Also, on the website itself, you are able to go through a poker school which can teach beginners to just about anyone some valuable information about anything from basic hold ‘em strategy, to bankroll management.

is pretty and very easy to navigate. It definitely stands up to par with the other popular sites. Also, you are able to play on ChanPoker through your web browser itself, as I said. To ensure you have no problems doing so, make sure ChanPoker is allowed to pop up on your screen, or turn off pop ups altogether. It runs through Java. I found it very refreshing to have that option. There are no discernable differences between the downloadable version and the java version.

When playing on the downloadable version, you are able to use a quick search function. What that does is let you pick from cash games or sit n’ goes. You can then pick from no limit, pot limit, or limit games. Then you’re able to pick the stakes you’re looking for, and then you’re off! It allows you to find what you’re looking for in a timely fashion. If that doesn’t suit you, then you can search through the easily navigable tabbed windows on ChanPoker. Once at the tables, you are able to play the full size windows, which allow you to use quite attractive 3D avatars, or you can play the minimized tables, which allow you to play more at once, comfortably. You are able to see a great deal of statistics at the table, ranging from hands played per hour to your odds at the table. ChanPoker does a good job of offering what you need at the table.

has the 5th highest player base online, so you can expect a good deal of action. At their peak during the day, you will be able to find just about anything you are looking for when it comes to cash games. Even late at night, you’re able to find players still at the highest limit cash games ChanPoker has to offer.

ChanPoker, being a member of the Ongame network, allows you to play one of the biggest tournaments online. The Grand Tournament, which is a 6-max $1k event, has two day 1s, and a final day when both fields combine. It boasts a $500k guarantee, which attracts some of the biggest and best players that can be found online. This isn’t all you can find if you’re looking for a bigger buy in tourney. ChanPoker offers a 100 dollar freezeout that has a 100k+ prizepool as well. Also, ChanPoker has your usual freezeouts and rebuys, with a decent selection for lower limit players. However, there isn’t that great of a selection for higher limit players other than the ones I’ve mentioned.

’s support does not appear to be that impressive, as of yet. The only support offered is the ability to send questions through the website. There appears to be no phone numbers or e-mails you can send as of yet. This is a bit bothersome, to say the least. I have sent multiple e-mails and they are very very slow getting back to me. This is a huge letdown as the website itself is pretty bare and doesn't have much information. I am trying to cut them some slack since they are new and everything, but it is very frustrating dealing with a poker room with terrible support...

As I’ve said, ChanPoker is a member of the Ongame network, which has a very solid player base. As a member of that network, you can pretty much be guaranteed there are plenty of fish in this sea. Lots of loose players, lots of chances to start and build a bankroll on here if you are a solid player. The low limit players are often atrocious, seeing too many flops, and leaking too much money. If you are looking to make money, this is a good place to start.

offers only one bonus, as it is still very new. However it shouldn't be disappointing as that bonus would be a 100% deposit bonus up to $1000! You have 60 days to clear this bonus. The way you clear the bonus, is to gain poker points in the amount of 10 times your bonus amount. So if your bonus is $1000, you need to get 10,000 player points within the 60 days. Getting player points is fairly easy, but you would surely need to put in a good deal of hours to get to 10,000 player points.

Player Points at ChanPoker are earned by playing real money cash games or tournaments. They are used to clear bonuses, to register for special tournaments, and you can also redeem them for merchandise at the ChanPoker Store. If you are a ring game grinder, points will be awarded based on the size of the rake in any given pot as long as it is at least $.10. When the rake reaches $.10 - $.19, you earn .1 point. $.20 - $.29, .2 points, $.30 - $.39 .3 points, etc up to 3 points for $3 rake. This is a pretty fair system for lower staked players as they award fractional points. If you want to play tournaments, 5 points are given for every $1 in fees. The full $1000 will be a pretty long grind, so make sure you have time to put in a ton of hands for 60 days!
