Cardozagames runs as part of the iPoker network. Unfortunately, that means that they do not allow United States citizens to play on their site. However, the iPoker network is still good news for those players residing outside the United States. They are one of the largest networks and foremost in terms of consumer protection. Several different games are offered at Cardoza with a wide range of stakes. Players can choose between Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud, and 5 Card Stud. In the case of Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo, either limit or pot-limit may be played, while no-limit, limit, or pot-limit for Texas Hold'em. There is always something going on, may it be tournaments, cash games, or sit-n-go's. Eleven casino games are also offered: blackjack, craps, European roulette, 4-line aces and faces, 4-line jacks or better, 4-line deuces wild, casino hold'em, tequila poker, American roulette, desert treasure, and a night out.
Though Cardozagames does not have a team of all-star pros that it can tote as its own, it does carry the claim that over the past 25 years, every world champion has used Cardoza books to help them bring home the win.
Players loyal to playing at Cardoza will earn points through the Cardoza VIP Club. Points are based on the players point average over the past three months – 50% from the past month, 30% from two months back, and 20% from three months back. Everyone starts as Bronze VIP, which is 0 Cardoza Points per month. At the top of the ranks is the Diamond VIP which qualifies in at a monthly 50,000 Cardoza Points average. Cardoza Points are earned by playing in cash games and tournaments. It may seem like 50,000 points is a lofty feat, but as a player advances in the VIP levels, points are accumulated at a faster rate than the previous VIP level. Points can be redeemed at the Cardoza Store for merchandise, poker tools to better your game, or cash.
Cardozagames' Software Interface/Usability
The software at is powered by Playtech, a leader in its industry, so one can have high expectations for the usability, layout, and graphics for Cardoza. Depending on the game, tables seat six, eight, or ten players. Two, of course, if it's a heads-up game. The board cards are displayed rather large, making it easy to differentiate between different tables if playing more than one. The hole cards are on the smaller side. Hand history and stats are stored and are easily accessed from the table.
The lobby of Cardoza is set up to be very user friendly. A left hand menu makes navigating the tables fast and easy to find what it is you want. Optional filters and a hide full tables option makes it even quicker. Games can be sorted based on room names, stakes, the number of players, average pot size, players per flop, hands per hour, and how many people are already on the waiting list to get in. Buttons across the bottom on the lobby give easy access to help/live chat, the cashier, latest promotions, and personal account details. Under options, the player can customize the table settings. Here, avatars can be chosen and settings changed to show hand strength, show folded cards, store hand history, etc. Audio settings can also be changed.
Tables can be viewed in either the standard full screen mode or the mini screen mode and almost all of the access options given in the lobby are also given at the table. If you are planning on playing more than one game at once, I would only recommend the mini screen mode. The standard size practically takes up the whole screen and makes it impossible to watch two games simultaneously. However, mini view may even be considered too small. So you have to choose between HUGE or tiny.
The chat window has three viewing options, based on what the player prefers – along side the table window, in the bottom left corner, or no chat at all. However, in mini table view, the avatars are not displayed, the buttons across the bottom are now located in a drop down menu from a menu button, and the chat can only be located in the bottom left corner of the window.
