Playing at CD Poker by Raoni_Poker on 30 Jun 2009

rating 4 / 5
I've been playing for a while at CD
Poker with the 'no deposit' bonus. Its
a good poker room in terms of in-game
interface. Some of its features would be
nice to have in big sites, like its
4-table mode.
The in-game interface is nice, it allows
a nice visualization of played hands.
You also can acess your hand history
through the lobby interface, which is
great (they dont need to send it for you
to email).
The problem with it is that there are
still very few players, which
constraints the alternatives of
different games. They should have asides
from turbo and standard games (in which
blinds increase every 7 minutes) games
with blinds increasing every 10 minutes.
It feels like a lottery when your table
is tigther than average.
Besides all that, I have a major
complaint concerning the support. They
told me that I could withdfraw the
profit I made if I deposited twice (any
value). I did the deposit and, to my
surprise, I could not cashout my profit
(or even the money I deposited). Simply,
the would keep my money until I made
6000 points (which takes forever for
someone who does other things in life).
After long chatting sessions with the
support, angry e-mails to recover my
money, and the inconvenience of feeling
betrayed...they finally allowed the
cashout.
So, if you're playing with 50$
bonus...DO NOT DEPOSIT any amount
regardless of what they say. If you
already made 6000 points and want to
cashout...thats OK to do it. Before
that, thats just nonsense. Why you're
going to deposit if you cant withdraw
your profits for a long time (as I said
6000 points take a lot of time to earn)?

CD Poker is a decent enough site. There
is plenty of action at lower levels
around peak times, and the players seem
relatively weak on the low limit levels
at least.
The big advantage is if you join through
PokerRoomSchool you get an instant $50,
with $100 that you can unlock in $10
segments. Although this takes a while at
the 50c and below limit tables (probably
around 200-300 hours) it is still free
money.
CD Poker offers reload bonuses using the
same release method of $10 increments.
Support is very good; online support is
provided with an in-game chat feature
and response times are very quick.
The CD Poker interface is not bad; there
are prettier rooms out there but it does
the job. Using mini-tables, 4 tables can
easily fit into a standard screen.
One interesting thing to note is that if
you only play with play money here, you
will be bombarded by email (usually one
every two days or so) with offers
begging you to make a first deposit.
These offers will be all different, so
you should keep them all and use the
best one when you decide to deposit.
These offers tend to peak at about $80
free, which is not bad.
All things considered, this site is
great to start your poker career on. You
can get $50 for no deposit using
PokerRoomSchool.com, and unlock a
further $100 by playing here for a while
for small stakes.

CDPoker.com Overview
Established in 2004, is a part of the iPoker network, which is the backend of many prominent rooms such as Noble Poker and Cardoza Games. Since CDPoker is on the iPoker network, you can be sure you're in for one heck of an experience. It is one of the very best networks around these days and CDPoker does a great job of giving you a good game. Unfortunately, if you're in the United States you'll be unable to join in on the fun for the time being.
CDPoker serves up four poker games (Texas Hold'em, Stud, Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo) and through the network you can play casino favorites like Blackjack and other games, all of which can be played for real money.
Compared to most other poker rooms CDPoker has smaller ring games, ranging from penny stakes to just a $200/$400 max for No-limit and a $300/$600 max for Limit. CD Poker also has MTTs that frequently attract 50-100 players (or 500 for their daily freerolls), 6 and 10-player Sit & Goes, as well as Heads-up tourneys. The MTTs start with $2000 in chips for each player and the Sit & Goes start with $1000.
CD Poker offers a great sign-up bonus, plenty of traffic at lower stakes, and a sleek interface, creating a great poker playing environment for players of all levels.
We use CDPoker in this review because that is the brand name. However, people sometimes search for CD Poker instead. This review applies to both the brand name of CDPoker and the searched name of CD Poker.
CDPoker.com Software Interface/Usability
has the unique option of allowing players to view tables in either the typical bird's-eye ‘Top View’ or in a seated player's point-of-view called ‘Side View’. Both look nice, but the Side View is especially neat. It has 3-D animated avatars that actually move. And the characters speak their actions. If you have never seen this before, it's definitely worth a look.
The CDPoker table window is a bit large and in the default ‘Side Chat’ mode, the added chat window makes it especially bulky. CD Poker offers a ‘Table Chat’ mode that gets rid of the extra side chat window, instead giving you a small, floating chat that may be moved around within the table window. But curiously, this mode doesn't allow you to type anything into the chat.
While playing at the table, there is a mini mode you can use for resizing, but tables cannot be custom resized. Basically, you can only select big or tiny for the size of the tables.
CDPoker’s graphical hand histories display images of the cards so the histories look pretty, but functionally they can be awkward to read and use.
CDPoker.com Poker Room Action
Over the years, action on has grown exponentially. Being on the iPoker network has been beneficial for CD Poker, as post-UIGEA iPoker has become a juggernaut in the online poker industry. In turn, the players on CDPoker can find just about anything they're looking for at any time of day. CD Poker caters to players of every level, experience and interest.
On the cash game side of things, CDPoker offers a wide range of limits and, unlike some sites, No-limit and Limit Hold ‘Em games are usually always running. However, some lesser-played games such as the Omaha and Stud variations can be a bit of a ghost town at times.
The tournaments on are just amazing at the moment. They've just successfully completed the European Championship of Online Poker IV and have tons of tournaments that can appeal to everyone. Their weekly $300+$20 buy-in $250k Guaranteed tournament is quite popular as is their new, $40,000 guaranteed Monday High-Roller Event. CDPoker is showing no signs of slowing down their tournament schedule, so be sure to check them out.
CDPoker's Ease of Game, Ease of Making Money, Fish Rating
Because of the high amounts of traffic at their lower-stake games there are plenty of fish to be found at . Being a member of the iPoker network attracts a large amount of overly loose European players to the site, creating a lot of action for those willing to gamble. While CD Poker may not be the fishiest site around, it certainly has it’s fare share of bad players at all limits.
CDPoker Coupon Code & Bonuses
has an unbelievably good first time deposit bonus, plus a no-deposit bonus for new accounts! First off, the deposit bonus is 150% up to $500 on your very first deposit. This 150% bonus is exclusive to FTR members, so make sure you sign up through the links on this page and enter the CDPoker Coupon Code ftriver when creating your account to qualify!
Getting hold of this lovely bonus is quite simple. CDPoker uses a system called ‘CDPoints’ which is based on the rake per hand or a tournament’s fee. For each 1200 CDPoints you earn $10 of your bonus will be released. For example, if you had deposited $100 your bonus would be an additional $150. So you would need to gain 18,000 CDPoints in total to realize it in full. At each level of 1200 additional CDPoints you would receive your $10 bonus slice until after 15 releases you had collected your entire $150 bonus.
Here is how you earn CDPoints based on rake per hand in ring cash games:
$.10-$.24 Rake: ¼ CDPoint
$.25-$.50: 1 CDPoint
$.51-$.75: 1 ½ CDPoints
$.76-$1.00: 2 CDPoints
$1.01-$1.25: 3 CDPoints
$1.26-$1.50: 4 CDPoints
$1.51-$1.75: 5 CDPoints
$1.76-$2.00: 6 CDPoints
$2.01-$2.25: 7 CDPoints
$2.26-$2.50: 8 CDPoints
$2.51-$2.75: 9 CDPoints
$2.76 and up: 10 CDPoints
As it pertains to tournaments, for each one dollar paid in tournament fees you get 15 CDPoints.
In addition to the deposit bonus, you will gain access to the FTR150, which is a $150 Money Added tournament with a $5 Buy-in on 15th of the month! Every month! Regardless of how many players enter the tournament there will always be $150 added courtesy of your friends here at FlopTurnRiver!

Sorry folks, but CDPoker is still pretty
weak. At least of the posters below
must work for CDPoker and just trying to
spam their site. First of all,
multi-tabling is not functional at all,
and basically DOES NOT WORK. Read the
review from FTR carefully, not these
user responses. So, right there, not a
whole lot of serious players are gonna
be interested. Secondly, not a lot of
players yet! The only redeeming factor I
can mention - they have a bonus that is
not insanely difficult to earn.

I played poker in many web sites, it
can't be bad if you start by getting
pocket queens...
I played once but I stayed there for 7
hours straight, they have great
software, first I tried the 3D software,
but after a while it's boring so I went
to Top view, and that's really great,
the best thing is that the software is
faster than any other software I saw,
and when I entered I saw 2,300 players.
they also have Omaha which I like..
I don't like cash games so much, but I
deposited only 50 bucks and now I have
174 after 7 hours, and that's after
spending the last 2 hours in 5 dollars
tournaments...(I won 1 out of 3!!)

Pretty but awkward interface. Would be
better if they had multiple tables in

CDPoker is not quite ripe yet, but could
be good if they could attract more
players.
Addendum to this review: I had occasion
to require customer support's help
withdrawing some money (due to a
software upgrade) and their support line
is very responsive.

Will someday be a pretty decent player
in the online poker market. As part of
the newer iPoker network, CDPoker is
still in its infancy, but shows some
promise. Interface is a nice start,
although it's still really in
development. Action is also weak, since
it's so new, but with other skins
contributing to the network, the player
base should be increasing. The bonus is
good, 25% up to $100, plus a daily
freeroll, plus iPoints coming soon.
