Established in 2004, (also known as Club Dice Poker and CDvPoker) is part of the iPoker network of online poker rooms which includes, among others, Noble Poker. iPoker's slogan is "The Next Big Thing In Online Poker," and they certainly have the potential. iPoker is becoming one of the major networks in the world.

CDPoker serves up four poker games (Texas Hold'em, Stud, Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo) and some other casino games including Blackjack and a few video poker-type games, all of which can be played for real money. CDPoker does not, however, offer 7-Card Stud. Compared to most other poker rooms, CDPoker has smaller ring game stakes that range from penny stakes to just $5/$10 max for no-limit and $10/$20 max for limit. CD Poker also has MTTs that frequently attract 50-100 players (or 500 for their daily freerolls), 6 and 10-player sit & gos, as well as heads-up tourneys. The MTTs start with $2000 in chips for each player and the sit & gos start with $1000.

Money transfer options at CDPoker include Credit Card Alternatives ,Click2Pay ,FirePay NETeller - Recommended! , ePassporte - Recommended! , Moneybookers , Citadel - Recommended!, myCitadel , Wire Transfer , EcoCard , Bank Draft , UseMyBank , PaySafeCard , ewalletXpress , Ukash and Webmoney.

CDPoker No Limit Texas Hold'em Table
CDPoker No Limit Texas Hold'em Table Top View

has the unique option of allowing the player to view the tables in either the typical bird's-eye Top View or in the seated player's point-of-view called Side View. Both look nice, but the Side View is especially neat. It has 3D animated avatars that actually move. And their actions are spoken by the characters. If you haven't seen this before, it's worth a look.

The CDPoker table window is a bit large and in the default Side Chat mode, the added chat window makes it especially bulky. CDPoker offers a Table Chat mode that gets rid of the extra side chat window and instead gives you a small, floating chat window that may be moved around within the table window, but curiously, this mode doesn't allow you to type anything into the chat.

With CDPoker's graphical hand histories showing images of all the cards, the histories look pretty, but functionally, I found them to be awkward to read and use. And, at this time, CDPoker offers no simple way to request specific hand histories via email like other poker rooms, although the CDPoker site claims you can request your complete game history by writing to customer support.

Notes regarding multi-tabling:

Only Top View allows for playing more than one table at a time. And CDPoker allows for up to 3 tables to be opened. However, CDPoker has effectively ruined the usefulness of this ability by not allowing all the tables to be viewed at once (or even overlapped on average-size monitors). Instead, you are still limited to one table window but there is a tab in the upper-left corner of the window for each open table (see Top View screenshot above). Switching tables is done by clicking its tab, but since you may only view one table at a time, this makes multi-tabling nearly impossible. Just playing two tables, I found myself often caught in two different hands on two tables struggling to make quick decisions as I did not know what was on the board or what had taken place until I clicked the appropriate tab to a table.

Being relatively new, does not have a whole lot of action yet. The sample number of players of 421 cited above, however, seems awfully small. Certainly, there is some action to be found -- more so than you would find in an online poker room with only 400 players. I believe the reason for this may be that the 421 is only a count of players logged in via CDPoker. Much like the relationship between Party Poker and Empire Poker, CDPoker shares skins and the same tables with the other iPoker network poker rooms. Currently with 7 iPoker network partners, an average of 400 players logged in at each room would effectively make the total player pool 2,800. And that is about what the action feels like here at CD Poker -- not the constant circus-like action of Party Poker with its 50,000+ players, but quite playable. I could usually get a seat at a 6-max $0.50/$1.00 no-limit table and there are always filled tables at the smaller stakes. The tournaments have a fair bit of action and you will usually see the tables at the most common stakes fill up without waiting for too long. They do have plenty of empty tables, though, and CDPoker has some growing to do before you could log in and sit down to active tables without ever having to wait.

CDPoker has numerous email addresses for support, but the main one is support@cdpoker.com. They also have a toll free support number, 877-297-4554, that is advertised as being available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. I personally do not have any experience dealing with the CD Poker support team, though. Also, there is an Online Support button in their Lobby window that will offer "live online support," but it is currently still under development.

has a fair mix of poor and good players. There is the usual set of fishy, passive call stations, but also some solid players setting traps and slow-playing in the ring games. The tourneys are fun. I played in a 68-player MTT and placed 2nd. I'm not a regular MTT player and I wasn't getting golden cards, so this indicates relatively moderate competition. As a matter of fact, it wasn't very tough until it got down to the final 6 players. And we 6 lasted for over an hour just swapping chips back-and-forth with everyone commenting how rare it was to have such good competition. You can find good games at CDPoker if you're patient and don't mind waiting for a bit. CD Poker just needs more time to build a bigger player base.

One nice thing is that CDPoker offers daily freerolls that fill up to full 500-player capacity.

offers a 150% first deposit bonus up to $500!!! This is a special, exclusive Coupon Code bonus offered only to FTR visitors! In addition to the initial deposit bonus, you also get a free $15 immediate bonus once you make your first deposit, access to FTR private freerolls, and special free tokens to major event freerolls and super satellites. This is an enormous new player bonus offer, and only available if you sign up through FTR. Use FTR's special Coupon Code: ftriver

Earning the bonus sounds relatively simple. You get $10 for every 1200 points as a pending bonus.

Regarding their player points system, iPoints (still under development), CDPoker's website has this to say: "iPoints are CDPoker's unique player reward program – players will accumulate iPoints as they play in ring tables and in tournaments and will be able to exchange them for tournament entries and other exciting prizes."

CDPoker has potential. The animated, talking 3D avatars are a fun change of pace from the norm and the action is growing all the time on the iPoker Network.

Interface:  3/5   Action:  3/5   Support:  5/5   Fish:  4/5   Bonus:  4/5

CD Poker is a decent enough site. There is plenty of action at lower levels around peak times, and the players seem relatively weak on the low limit levels at least. The big advantage is if you join through PokerRoomSchool you get an instant $50, with $100 that you can unlock in $10 segments. Although this takes a while at the 50c and below limit tables (probably around 200-300 hours) it is still free money. CD Poker offers reload bonuses using the same release method of $10 increments. Support is very good; online support is provided with an in-game chat feature and response times are very quick. The CD Poker interface is not bad; there are prettier rooms out there but it does the job. Using mini-tables, 4 tables can easily fit into a standard screen. One interesting thing to note is that if you only play with play money here, you will be bombarded by email (usually one every two days or so) with offers begging you to make a first deposit. These offers will be all different, so you should keep them all and use the best one when you decide to deposit. These offers tend to peak at about $80 free, which is not bad. All things considered, this site is great to start your poker career on. You can get $50 for no deposit using PokerRoomSchool.com, and unlock a further $100 by playing here for a while for small stakes.

Great new FTR bonus - $15 free! The iPoker Network is much more popular than it was a year ago, plenty of action, and good tourneys. Good site.

Just had a scheduled tourney and came to the final table playing in 6th position as their network broke down :-((( tourney cancelled was everything i saw by logging in again next day... online support wasn't present - i tried... respond on my mail after 14 hours: i will get back tournament fee... wow... and finally: i played for 3 days several hours now with about 150$ and haven't got any $ from my sign-up bonus until now. you have no chance to control this anywhere at the interface...

I really love the option to play in 3D! Gives the game a realistic sensation! Hope I'll meet you in "the battle field" and get some of your money ;-) Steve

Sorry folks, but CDPoker is still pretty weak. At least of the posters below must work for CDPoker and just trying to spam their site. First of all, multi-tabling is not functional at all, and basically DOES NOT WORK. Read the review from FTR carefully, not these user responses. So, right there, not a whole lot of serious players are gonna be interested. Secondly, not a lot of players yet! The only redeeming factor I can mention - they have a bonus that is not insanely difficult to earn.

“my experience with CD poker” by Camila, 05 May 2005

Interface:  5/5   Action:  5/5   Support:  4/5   Fish:  5/5   Bonus:  4/5

I played poker in many web sites, it can't be bad if you start by getting pocket queens... I played once but I stayed there for 7 hours straight, they have great software, first I tried the 3D software, but after a while it's boring so I went to Top view, and that's really great, the best thing is that the software is faster than any other software I saw, and when I entered I saw 2,300 players. they also have Omaha which I like.. I don't like cash games so much, but I deposited only 50 bucks and now I have 174 after 7 hours, and that's after spending the last 2 hours in 5 dollars tournaments...(I won 1 out of 3!!)

I played at CDPoker and it was quite nice actually the tournaments they had were very nice and the game speed was very good, didnt thought they have the player # they need to take full advantege of the software but it sure seems like there getting there soon. Give it a try :)

“CDPoker = meh” by Xianti, 10 Apr 2005

Interface:  2/5   Action:  2/5   Support:  4/5   Fish:  3/5   Bonus:  3/5

Pretty but awkward interface. Would be better if they had multiple tables in different windows. Not many players. CDPoker is not quite ripe yet, but could be good if they could attract more players. Addendum to this review: I had occasion to require customer support's help withdrawing some money (due to a software upgrade) and their support line is very responsive.

“CDPoker Review” by ttanaka, 15 Mar 2005

Interface:  3/5   Action:  1/5   Support:  3/5   Fish:  3/5   Bonus:  4/5

Will someday be a pretty decent player in the online poker market. As part of the newer iPoker network, CDPoker is still in its infancy, but shows some promise. Interface is a nice start, although it's still really in development. Action is also weak, since it's so new, but with other skins contributing to the network, the player base should be increasing. The bonus is good, 25% up to $100, plus a daily freeroll, plus iPoints coming soon.
