BugsysClub Highlights
-
150% Initial Deposit Up to $1,000 -- Automatic bonus with our links!
-
NUTS: Very nice initial deposit bonus offer. A decent variety of deposit and cashout methods are offered. BugsysClub treats the low stakes players pretty well. Bugsys Bonus Points (BBP) are given out quite frequently. Tournaments end pretty quickly. Lots of bounty tournaments are offered. US players are welcome!
-
BEATS: Low traffic at BugsysClub. Hold'em games and tourneys are usually only places where players are. The high stakes community will find very little for themselves here. Bonus is a pretty long grind.

Bugsys Club.com Overview
Bugsys Club is the real money gaming partner of a trio of poker websites that include a poker portal, PokerPages, and an online poker school, PokerSchoolOnline. Having been opened in February of 2003, Bugsys Club has been opened for several years now and has never really taken off in terms of traffic.
BugsysClub.com has all the common poker games: Hold'em (limit, pot-limit and no-limit), Omaha, Omaha H/L, 7-Stud, 7-Stud H/L. They have small-to-medium sized multi-table Hold'em tourneys (20-100 player tourneys on average) ranging from $1+$0.10 up to $500+$50 buy-ins and 6, 8 and 10-player sit & gos. Quite a few of these are WSOP and WPT satellites. They also have heads-up tournaments. I was pleasantly surprised with their tournament structures. Unlike most other rooms that start you with $800 or $1000 in chips, BugsysClub gives you $1500 to start in the sit & gos and $10,000 in the MTTs. This pace seems more reasonable (and more realistic), and you don't find anyone taking big gambles right from the get-go.
Bugsys Club's money transfer options include NETeller, Debit Card, eWallet Express, 900 Pay, VISA, MasterCard, 900Pay, wire transfer and BankDraft/Cashier Check. Bugsys Club is a Thawke Secure Site.
Bugsys Club.com Software Interface/Usability
The Bugsys Club interface is unremarkable, but it's not entirely ugly -- the chips are pretty, at least. In 's default setting, the table window is huge. One window for a single table will fill an entire 1024x768 screen! Fortunately, there is an option to "Always use small tables" in the settings. This makes the tables a more manageable size, but doing so makes the cards on the board overlap each other, which I found to be annoying.
One thing about the Bugsys Club interface I can rave about is the session statistics.
They're the most detailed stats I've seen. Here's the kind of analysis you can view:
Total Hands: # and % won.
Hands Won: # and % at showdown, # uncontested.
Saw Flop: # and % from BB, SB, other positions.
All % actions are analyzed for each round (PF / F / T / R):
Hands Played / Fold / Check / Check Raise / Call / Bet / Raise / Reraise / All-In / Won.
Stats can be reviewed for different events:
All Events / Ring Games / Tournaments / Specific Tables.
And the stats don't reset when you leave Bugsys Club. The next time you log in to Bugsys Club, all info continues
to accumulate from previous sessions until you reset it.
Bugsys Club.com Poker Room Action
's "Number of Players" sample as seen at the top is misleading. Only a small portion of those 1,500 – 2,000 or so players are actually playing real money at Bugsys Club. The others are at PokerPages' play money tables or at the PokerSchool Online tables (learning how to play with more play money, I presume). That's right. This same Bugsys Club interface is also used for the tables of those other two business partners. I don't know anything about those other rooms, but I can tell you that there is simply not much action at Bugsys Club Poker. In the ring games, the few tables that have any players at all often have waiting lists. At the moment, the BugsysClub.com website seems to promote itself more to the tournament players. The Bugsys Club player traffic is evidence of that. There are more players to be found in the tourneys. Even still, getting a tourney started means waiting a while for enough poker players to show up.
Bugsys Club's Ease of Game, Ease of Making Money, Fish Rating
Since money games are on the same interface as PokerSchool Online, quite a few fish graduate school and want to test their skills on the same software. Quite a few of the ones I found were playing rags, calling aggressive bets with medium pairs, calling down to river with baby pocket pairs, and timid bettors/passives. However, they're not nearly as abundant as other rooms. Likely because there simply aren't many players.
As a matter of fact, since there aren't many tables to find a game, I found myself playing with the same 2 or 3 players nearly every time I sat down to play! And these guys soon figured out that I was a rock and wouldn't give me much action.
The tourneys seem a little tougher. In a $10+1 MTT with 23 players, I placed 5th. The final table was tough. Lots of aggression and check-raising. Most pre-flop all-in showdowns throughout the tourney were with premium hands. Because of the better-than-most tourney structure, it seems that Bugsys does manage to attract more of the avid tourney players.
Bugsys Club Promotional Code & Bonus
offers a 150% initial deposit bonus up to $1,000, but earning that bonus is quite an undertaking. In short, you must first collect 100 Bugsys Bonus Points (BPP) for every $10 of bonus money.
Deposit $667 in real money and receive $1,000 in your bonus account. As soon as you earn 100 BBPs then $10 is released automatically from your bonus account to your real money account. You can earn Bugsys Bonus Points in both Ring Games and Tournament play.
You do not need a Promotional Code when registering to receive this initial deposit bonus. Be sure to click through our links and register, you can leave the Promotional Code field blank, and the bonus will be automatically added to your account!

Bugsys Club.com Customer and Technical Support
At one time, claimed that an 800 number was coming but that doesn’t seem to have materialized. Live help is advertised along with an operator standing by 24/7 to answer any questions that one might have. Luckily, this feature works but the chat window doesn’t seem to appear unless all other Internet windows are closed. When I tried to open the chat box with other windows open, it just froze up the window it was trying to open in.
The e-mail support can be considered pretty reliable as questions sent to support@bugsysclub.com generally yields a quick response. Customer support for Bugsys Club really isn’t too bad for how few people play here.

I have played at Bugsy's Club for over
two years and it needs to be
acknowledged that there is absolutely
nothing random about Bugsy's Club.
They used to even admit that they
"overcorrected" for the "nonrandom"
lack of high cards. In real terms, what
this means is that calling with Ace
trash off-suit at Bugsy's Club will win
much more often than it statistically
should. I won't even go into the
statistical anomalies regarding
completely disconnected straights,
unsuited flushes, and the percentage of
times dominated hands end up winning.
It's genuinely absurd! Avoid this site
at all costs!

I have been playing at Bugsy Club for
almost 2 years now. I started playing
in freerolls and have accumulated over
$100 in real money without depositing a
penny.
The main reason I play here is the
interface. Simply the best on the net.
The buttons are in a logical place, chat
and results are easy to read and are
viewable in the same window.
The main problem with this site tends to
be the quality of play. I think the
majority of the players with real money
in their accounts won it through
freerolls and built up a bankroll.
Therefore these players tend to have a
higher knowledge of the game than most
other sites.
I play here to gain table experience and
have learned a lot from this site. This
is the place to play if you are trying
to gain experience, but not to win big
money.

The tournament structure and frequency
is fantastic here, I think the best on
the net.
Live help is excellent, again among the
best.
Good software and interface.
Good hand histories/stats.
Bad:
Lag! It is terrible.
Very hard to fill a sng, even at small
stakes.
Extremely hard to clear your bonus.
Not a place to make money, but very good
to play quality tournaments. If they
increased their bonuses, they would get
more players through bonus whoring,
which would eventually increase their
customer base enough to get some serious
advertising happening.
Then they could buy some decent
bandwidth to support more users.
Awful bonus system... by NONE on 06 Oct 2005
Interface:

It takes forever to clear the bonus
here. You only earn bonus points when
the
rake reaches its max. This of course
does not happen in NL games unless
people go all-in. So most of the hands
will yield no bonus points. I've
played
over a thousand hands and I'm not even
half-way through clearing a measly
$15 bonus.
The fish factor is low. You see a few
loose players, but they're pretty loose
aggressive so unless you want to
straight up gamble, this is not the site
to
make money.
The poker room action is awful. I spend
most of my time waiting to get in a
game.
The only redeeming value is that the
interface is pretty clean and easy to
understand. The tables are attractive
and the buttons/chat are in logical
spots
and unobtrusive. Plus this site offers
both Windows and Mac software.

The bugsy's interface is very
attractive and easy to use. Of the few
sites I've
tried I think it rates as one of the
best.
The poker room traffic is low and there
are not to many fish. The fish that are
here are playing with only a few bucks
won at a freeroll or acquired by
cashing in bugsy bonus points (BPP).
The bonuses are tough to unlock if you
play small(micro) stakes because its
based on raked hands and the rake only
kicks in when the pot reaches a
dollar or more. Contrary to what the
initial review says, I have received
points
toward my bonus from playing sit n'
go's.
The biggest benefit of bugsy's is that
is actually has a downloadable Mac
client. In fact most of the people
playing on the site are mac users.
It's
pretty much either this or pokerroom if
you want to play on your mac and I
think bugsys' software is better.

This was the first site I played at, and
I still feel it has the best interface
around, if a little big, but that won't
matter to those with higher resolution
monitors.
The only problem is that it is pretty
unpopular, and therefore there is very
little action. SnGs start up pretty
rarely, and there are very few ring
games to choose from, usually only about
5 full tables.
The freerolls and BBP system is very
good though, a great incentive to haul
the fish in.
Very good support also, the Live Help
feature is fantastic, they are always
very helpful.
Bonuses are very rare though, which I
feel could be why this room gets little
action.

I've been playing at BugSys for a few
months now, and have had a real positive
experience. Great freeroll games if
you're into that sort of thing. I play
mainly 10 person sit & gos, which I turn
a tidy profit at.
Their support has been awesome whenever
I've needed to use it (once.) Interfact
is excellent.

I'm disheartened because Bugsys has the
best interface out of all software I've
used and there's never a shortage of
games. The BBP bonus points are a plus,
but they are hard to accumulate a
worthwile amount and they attract many
fish. It could be all the fish, but bad
beats come hard and often (Qs against
Ks, Ks against As, As beat by
straight/flush draws on the river) and
many people question the randomness of
the cards. It's an attractive poker
room, but the play is so all over the
place it's hard to keep a bankroll.

The best thing about Bugsy's is the
freerolls. You can earn bonus points
which can be turned into cash if you
collect enough. The freerolls are
sometimes easy, depending on the time of
day. You can even play ring games with
your bonus points to try and earn more.
The interface is good with good stats
and opponent comment space. The ring
games do tend to be tough and the player
base is low. There seems to be above
average action and frequent bad beats
some nights. Live 24/7 support is
great, live help in a chat box can be
accessed easily. But its the freerolls
that keep me playing here.

Great place if you like tourneys and
don't mind waiting... and waiting for a

the ring gamers. And the bonus system is
ridiculous. Don't even bother bonus

I agree with ttanaka, the bonuses are
IMPOSSIBLE to clear. It's taking me
weeks to unlock a measly $10. It does
not help that there are almost no fixed
limit HE ring games, just NL and
tourneys tourneys tourneys. I did try
one
tourney and easily took 2nd so the
players aren't that great. The
multitable
freerolls are pretty fun, but otherwise
this is not where you want to be if you
like low limit HE. I will say, the
interface is pleasant, and it runs on
Macs,
which is probably the only reason I'm
there. But again, the deposit bonuses
are unlockable, and the BugsysBonusClub
point system is similarly
meaningless.

Pretty weak overall. Ring action is
poor and bonus is very difficult to

the decent tournament action - this is

the students of PokerSchoolOnline and
PokerPages!
