Things have changed since the last
review I guess! Tons of tables, TONS of
FISH everywhere. Good bonus offer and
some very interesting tournaments inc a
$20,000 freeroll where you get more chip
depending on the amount you have played
in the previous month. Not too sure
about the lobby, but once your sat at
the tables it's like shooting fish in a
barrel.

I can't attest to the rest of the site,
as I'm a bottomfeeder. At the low
limits ($3/6 and lower) VERY few fish
from what I was used to. If you want
quality oppos, this place will give you
a battle.
Also, few tables w/only 6ring games.
Bonus is good, and the site is very well
designed for multitabling, however the
low limit games all seemed to be Turbo
pace on default, so multitabling takes
some skill.

NUTS: Purple Lounge's new 100% up to $1,000 deposit bonus for FlopTurnRiver users is a major boost over the old 100% up to $250. Their room is stylish and well crafted, with decent selection and growing traffic. Instant Play is also available through a Flash-based poker client.
-
BEATS: US players are ineligible for Purple Lounge, which, considering their impressive stable of offers, comes as a major disappointment. Their VIP system is also a bit weak.

Purple Lounge Room Review

Purple Lounge Poker Overview
As a part of the
Prima Poker Network,
Purple Lounge
shares players with Battlefield Poker,
Crazy Poker,
PokerTime, and other rooms. Unfortunately, the Prima Poker Network does not accept any US players.
Purple Lounge is a strangely named and, not surprisingly, very purple poker room. The large Prima Poker network provides it with a good solid user base. In addition to Texas Hold’em, you can find plenty of action on 5 Card Draw and Omaha Hi-Lo variants. There is 5/7 Card Stud and Razz available but these are less popular. Most players will be found seated at the low/mid staked NLHE tables, spread across currencies. It is IMPORTANT to make sure you note the currency of the table as you sit down, because $100 NL is very different to €100 NL. You can select either Euro (€) or US Dollar($) as your currency, and you can deposit and withdraw using NETeller, credit/debit cards, or bank transfers.
There are a variety of tournaments offered at Purple Lounge including daily guaranteed prize pools of $1.75k (with a $3.50 buy-in), $2.75k ($11 buy-in), $3k ($16.50 buy-in), $17.5k ($22 buy-in), and $20k ($27.50 buy-in). They also offer a weekly $150k ($65 buy-in) tournament on Sundays. As long as you play at real money tables you can also register for the Deep Purple $20,000 freeroll on the second Saturday of every month. The more action you play during the previous 30 days, the better your stack size in the Deep Purple! You can increase your starting stack from 2,000 chips up to 10,000 by playing for 20 days (40 hours) during the preceding month.
Purple Lounge Software Interface/Usability
The Purple Lounge account setup is nice and easy, although an activation email is required in order to complete the registration and connect to the real cash poker games. However, it sometimes takes 20 minutes for this email to arrive – not a lifetime, but for first time sign up to a new site it is unnecessarily long and those desperate to play might go find another site, join it, deposit money, and start playing. Little things like this can cost a site a lot of potential players.
The Purple Lounge lobby is nicely laid out, and the average $ pot and players/flop are displayed as one would expect from all poker sites these days. Purple Lounge also recently upgraded their software to include an alternate lobby which utilizes a slider to filter cash game stakes. You can switch between the old and new lobbies at the click of a button. You can have your own unique avatar or, if you wish, turn them off completely. There is also a hand replay feature, which can be very useful (acts as an instant HH viewer). Use it to find out what the other players called you to the river with, even if they muck their hand! All the above features and many, many more are customizable by the player, meaning the choice is yours as to how you play!
There are plenty of options to customize at Purple Lounge , such as switching specific table animations on and off. This is one of the few sites that offers a “Mini-View” option for the tables – which is superb – and allows you to play up to 5 tables at a time with no overlap at all. It takes a little getting used to, but if you like to multi-table and don’t have a huge monitor, this feature alone could make this site worth playing over any other. With Mini-View you can cut down the graphics on your screen, leaving you with just the important information you need to win. (Tip: when using Mini-view, move tables by clicking in the middle of them.)
There is also a web-based “Flash” version of the poker client which means you can play on non-Windows machines (or sneak in a game of poker while at the office).
The software runs extremely well and cannot be faulted. You can also save HH files on your computer and use them with Poker Tracker to track how well you are crushing the games!
Purple Lounge Poker Room Action
Purple Lounge and the Prima network have plenty of action at all times of day on all their different game types, although at the lower levels. Don’t expect to find many players at much above the $2/$4 stakes – they are fairly dead. Action across single table and multi-table tournaments is also very good but, again, concentrated heavily towards the very low limits.
Tit's only a matter of time, however, before the traffic at Purple Lounge heads for higher stakes. Over the last three population checks, they've grown from 7,000 to 9,000 to an amazing 13,000-plus players logged in on a Tuesday morning. It's a trend which shouldn't be ignored by players looking to extend their gaming base.
One slight criticism is that at the lower limit tables, the queues can often get silly – at the time of this writing there is a $10nl table with a queue of 12. Sometimes new tables are simply not available and at other times (for some reason) people will not join an empty table and try to get it going, even though there might be 20 or 30 people in the queues for 3 or 4 full tables. You really do need to enter all tables (unless they are almost completely empty) by using the waiting list feature, because if you do spot table with 8/10 or 4/6 players by the time you’ve joined it the seats are full.
Purple Lounge Ease of Game, Ease of Making Money, Fish Rating
The quality of action at Purple Lounge and the Prima Network would most accurately be described as “average”. There are much easier poker sites out there and there are much harder poker sites out there. This site seems to have a nice balance of good players and fish, which means one should theoretically experience fewer suckouts. Good poker playing on this site will be rewarded.
Purple Lounge definitely won't have as much of a selection as some of the pro US giants, but you’re guaranteed to find more donks! Tournament play, however, does seem to be of a good standard – even at the low limits – and hence this is probably not the best site to choose if you are a below average tournament player. There are many easier SNG/MTT networks to play on.
Purple Lounge Poker Promotion Code & Bonuses
See our Purple Lounge Bonus page for details on clearing your bonus.
Purple Lounge has upped the ante in an attempt to attract more users from FlopTurnRiver. While those coming in from other sites will receive only a 100% up to $250 bonus, those who click over using the links found on these pages will qualify for an impressive 100% up to $1,000 first deposit bonus. That's an increase of 300%, just for using the FlopTurnRiver links!
You will also be given $10 free for your first deposit, as long as you make the deposit within 24 hours of registering. Even though $10 free isn't much when you make a $1000 deposit, it's still $10 worth of free money that will appear in your account within 24 hours!
There is also a cumulative bad beat bonus which increases until it is won, with the current value is shown in the lobby at all times.
You do not need to enter anything into the Promotion Code field during the registration process. These bonuses and promotions will automatically get applied to you as long as you click through our links to sign up to Purple Lounge. So don't worry about leaving the Promotion Code field blank, you'll still receive these great sign-up bonuses!
Other bonuses are often available. For example, they are currently holding a ‘Mad Dash For Cash’ contest. Basically, all you need to do is play and play a lot. If you happen to pay the most rake in the month, you will win a cool $3500! If you play the most raked hands, you will have 8000 reasons to be happy, with a huge $8000 bonus! They also award the top 50 players, so make sure you play as much as you can to win some cash!
Purple Lounge Customer and Technical Support
There are a few ways you can contact customer support at Purple Lounge. One is by using the “support” link in the lobby menu and filling out a rather poorly designed help form. It starts by asking your Name, username, last deposit amount for security (?), your email address, then finally your subject and message. Surely if you are already logged on to their poker site and have hit this “support” link, they must already know who you are. Support can also be contacted via a form on their website or by sending an e-mail.
E-mail: support@purple-lounge.com
Despite this, the speed and quality of reply is very good and they now offer live chat support. To access this, log into your account, click ‘Bank’, and then click on the 'Live Chat' graphic. This is a huge improvement over their support desk!
Purple Lounge also has a VIP Service to award loyal players. Basically, if you play a lot of poker, you become a VIP Player. Because you're VIP, it gives you access to your own VIP Manager, granting personal support service around the clock. Pretty cool, you will never be left in the dark! (To become a VIP player, your average monthly ‘VIP Points’ has to be 1,000 or higher.)
