Thanks to the World Series of Poker, The World Poker Tour and many other television events, some poker players are becoming household names. One of the best examples is Chris Moneymaker. After everyone saw him win the 2003 World Series of Poker (WSOP) on ESPN, he became extremely famous.
At one point or another, every serious poker player dreams of winning big and making a name for himself. Folks see certain players do well on television and then they want to find out more about these remarkable players. This section is here so that people can read more about their favorite players.
Most of the players in this section are professionals but there will be some exceptions. For example, when Chris Moneymaker won the World Series of Poker in 2003, he was not a professional. He was an accountant and poker was only part of his income. Nonetheless he made poker famous and people want to learn more about him.
