PokerStars, the largest poker room on the planet, has announced the launch of PokerStars Home Games. Now, hosting your weekly home game is as easy as clicking a few buttons. Each home game is fully customizable – you choose the date, time, and poker game. PokerStars Home Games can be cash games or tournaments. Best of all, creating or joining a poker club is completely free, so there is no excuse not to try it!
PokerStars Home Games requires you have the PokerStars client. Downloading and creating an account costs nothing. If you need help with this step, see our

Once you're logged in, click on the Home Games tab in the PokerStars lobby. If one of your friends already created a club and you're looking to join, click the green Join a Poker Club button:
A new window will popup. Make sure you enter the correct Club ID (Number) and Invitation Code given by your friend.
Enter your name in the last text box, check that you agree to the terms, then click Join Club. If all goes well, you will see a success message.Now you're in! Make sure to share it on facebook or twitter! By default you will receive an e-mail notification whenever a new tournament or cash game is scheduled or created. If you do not see this message, make sure you entered the correct Group Number and Invitation Code.
You can also create your own club to play with your friends. Go back to the Home Games tab in the lobby. From here you can start a new Poker Club or join an existing one assuming you have the club’s ID and Invitation Code. You will need to supply the Club ID and Invitation Code to your friends so that they can join your PokerStars Home Game. Invites can even be sent out using Facebook and Twitter! You can accept or reject players by clicking on the Manage Club button shown below. After you have invited your friends it’s time to set up the game!
The league manager screen gives you the power to do anything. You won’t need to clear off the table or look for the poker chips. In addition to accepting people into your club, the Manage Club button allows you to choose an image and color players will see when they are in your lobby. The ‘Change Club Options…’ button allows you to change your season length to quarterly or monthly. The default club season lasts a full year.
Now, you’re ready to create a game! Select the Manage Games button to create a tournament or ring game.
The top half of the screen is dedicated to cash games. Click the Create a Table under Manage Tables to get started. At the top you can choose your game and structure. In addition to Hold ‘Em, players can host Omaha, Stud, 5-Card Draw, Triple Draw, and even Badugi games. No Limit, Pot Limit, and Fixed Limit are the three game formats. The Player Per Table drop down menu allows you to set the maximum number of players at your table.
Are you more of a tournament player? PokerStars Home Games greatest potential lies in its tournament creator. Here you can adjust several options to bring your Poker Club a custom poker experience like no other. Think the blinds escalate too quickly? Increase the Blind Interval. Feel like starting with more chips? Beef up your starting stack by increasing your Starting Chips. Tired of No Limit Hold’Em? Go crazy, play some No Limit Omaha. There are countless ways to fine tune your tournament. Every member of your Poker Club will be notified via e-mail when you create a tournament. This e-mail will include pertinent information including the time and date of your event.
