The FTR Werewolf Basics Werewolf is a role-playing team survival game that takes place in the form of posts in a thread. The best way to get an idea of how this works is to read through the first couple pages of a gameplay thread. Here's an example of a classic FTR game: http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...ad-t63028.html There are two teams in a village (which is usually named after who I am talking to on AIM or what is playing on winamp): the villagers and the werewolves. Amongst the villagers are special roles that will aid in eradicating the wolves. The villagers win by eliminating all the wolves, and the wolves win if they make up half or more of the village. The game takes place in two alternating phases, day and night. TWO PHASES  DAY: The village usually has 12 hrs to discuss who is the wolf amongst them. Players discuss in plain text, but must place their vote in bold text (lynch pelion). When a player receives the majority of the votes he will be lynched and his role revealed. If no majority is reached within 12 hrs, the player with the most votes will be lynched. If two or more players are tied for the most votes then they will be put into the list randomizer on random.org and the top name will be lynched. It is now night... NIGHT: The wolves discuss in a special wolves-only forum on who to eat/kill. The wolves may also communicate in this private forum during the day phase. The lead/alpha wolf will then PM me who they wish to kill, that villager will be killed and his role revealed. The sun rises... THE ROLES- These are the most common roles on FTR  The Villager - You are a lowly peasant or wench who only discusses and votes during the day, you have no action at night. The Werewolf - You are a bad ass stealthy killing machine. Your goal is to eliminate villagers. During the day you vote and discuss like a regular villager, but at night you get together amongst your fellow wolves and plot who to kill ARRRROOOOOOWWWWWWW. The Angel - You are a regular villager during the day, but at night you may save one target from being killed (even yourself). The Seer - You are a regular villager during the day, but at night you consult your crystal ball and discover the identity of any villager that you choose. The Vigilante - You are a regular villager during the day, but take the werewolf slaying into your own hands at night. Every two nights you will be given a silver bullet which will kill any villager you target. You may stockpile your bullets, but you can only shoot one person, or hopefully wolf, per night. Random Other Guidelines and Strategy Guidelines and ethics  I do not choose the roles, they are randomized by random.org's list randomizer. DO NOT TALK AT NIGHT Only the wolves may talk in private, you cannot PM people in the game and ask them if they are a villager and devise strategy privately... Please no talk of wagering your entire BR that you aren't a wolf, that guys is a wolf, or that dude is the vigilante etc. Werewolf requires daily participation. Do not sign up if you cannot participate daily. If you are deemed inactive in the game by me you will be modkilled You must have 50 posts in order to participate in Werewolf Do not copy/paste or screen shot/post PMs I send you.Strategy - Some questions to ask yourself  Is this person playing different from previous games? What could this mean? Why did this person say that? Do they want me to say something? What will saying X make others think of me? What will saying Y make others think of me? What will saying nothing make others think of me? What image do I convey? Are there timing tells in werewolf? I'll add more as I think of them... GL! |
