We should go ahead and choose who we are BW on Night 1, so it doesn't get derailed.

If my count is gud then we have 19 so far, much better than the last few WWs.

Lynch Stax

There's been talk of having dead players continue to participate in the game for this incarnation of Werewolf. I think I have an idea as to how this can work.

Start off with the WW classic rules, but with the following changes:

- There is no vigilante.
- Dead villagers can continue to talk and participate in the game thread, but cannot vote in lynches.
- There is an additional special role: a "medium". If the medium dies, the dead villagers lose the ability to talk to the living.
- When an ordinary villager is hanged, they have the one-time chance to haunt someone to death the night following the day after they die. For example, if a person is hung on day 1, he will have the option to haunt someone to death on night 2. The villagers with special roles (Angel, Medium, Seer) do not have this ability.

What I like about these changes is that dead players will be able to continue to participate, and the role of vigilante is passed around.

totally illogical. I much prefer the idea that the dead can discuss and continue playing along in there own private dead forum.
All that will happen is that the dead will clutter up the thread and make it harder for the living to make any sense of the information gained.

how about making it so that on every second night the medium gains access to the dead forum and can read whats been said.

just make it so all the dead get to have one vote every other night and a fairly tight time frame in which to cast the vote ...i.e 14 hours and the person with most votes dies.if a tie the last to die gets the casting vote. then everyone can continue to play until the end .

What I like about these changes is that dead players will be able to continue to participate, and the role of vigilante is passed around.

then again perhaps Trip can outline any plans that may have been made for the gameplay

I like the alpha wolf type where wolves can recruit other wolves. But tbh, I don't care. I'll let da tripmaster figure out what rules I shall abide by.

The main problem with a recruitment scheme is that it's almost impossible for the villagers to win unless they get lucky and kill the alpha early on.

Say you have 18 villagers and 2 wolves. The village manages to hang a wolf! 18 villagers 1 wolf. Then a wolf recruits, so now it's 17 villagers 2 wolves. The wolves get the advantage even if the village manages to hang a wolf.

I too don't like the idea of the dead in the main thread. Another potential problem with that is if the seer gets hung before revealing who he looked up he could then do that in the main thread.

I'm pretty sure SDM meant that the dead villagers would be able to talk during the night only, so there would be no thread cluttering

also the concern raised by Gator is taken care of by the mechanic of the Seer/Medium/Angel not being able to join the dead villagers in their chatter / haunting.
