    Default Triptanes Tavern

Welcome to Triptanes Tavern! Pull up a chair and one of my wenches will get you a cup of my sweet, sweet ale.

This topic serves as the general game suggestions and questions thread. New special roles? Thoughts on existing roles? Themed games?

Also, if you're drunk, post here.

    The Engineer

Starts the game with his role revealed. Everyone knows he's the engineer, because well, it's hard to hide all of the cool stuff he builds.

During the night phase, the Engineer may build a trap and "protect" one of the villagers from being eaten by the wolves. The Engineer secretly PM's the Mod with who he wants to protect with a trap each night.

If a wolf attempts to eat a villager who has been protected by the engineers trap, the wolf will die instead.

(Optional) If the alpha wolf attempts to convert a villager who has been protected by the engineers trap, the alpha will either be revealed, or may instead choose to have one of his own wolves sacrificed to escape without having his identity revealed.

    The Necromancer

The Necromancer is an evil entity in it to win the game for him/herself.

Each night, the Necromancer may choose to perform an evil ritual and raise one of the slain members of the village into a shambling army of undead.

Each night the Necromancer does this, though, he/she risks being caught at a higher, and higher rate. On the first night, the necromancer is guaranteed a successful raising of a zombie, on the next night, there is a 25% chance he/she is caught, on the next night, there is a 50% chance he/she is caught, on the next night, there is a 75% chance he/she is caught, and on the next consecutive night, there is a 100% chance he/she is caught

If The Necromancer is ever caught, his or her identity is simply revealed to the village.

If the necromancer ever takes a night off, the chance the necromancer is caught is reduced to 0% and begins building normally.

If at any time the number of zombies accrued by the necromancer is greater than the total number of villagers and wolves, the necromancer may unleash the zombie hoardes upon the villagers and the necromancer wins the game.

When the necromancer dies, for any reason the evil magic animating the zombies fades, and the zombies all die.

The wolves, and the villagers can kill the necromancer as normal for each phase.

If the Alpha tries to convert the necromancer, the necromancer will die, and no conversion will occur that night.

    The Apothecary

The Apothecary at any time, may reveal his true identity to the village, and ressurrect any player who was killed the night before.

No matter what the role of that player was previously, the player is brought back to life in the game, as a normal villager with no special roles whatsoever.

Once the Apothecary has revealed himself, the Angel can no longer protect the Apothecary. (The angel believes ressurecting someone that has already gone to heaven is an abombination against humanity)

The Apothecary may ressurrect one person per day, if he manages to live through the night.

As long as the apothecary is alive, the wolves must outnumber the village to win, not just simply have the same number of wolves as villagers.

That Crazy Guy Who Mysteriously Wandered Into Town The Night Before All This Started Going Down And You're Not Really Sure Who'se Side He's On.
Edited because this idea really sucked.. i'll come up with something.

How about this... if there are alot of players, the CHEMIST. As a villager, he can create wolfsbane and every 2nd or 3rd day he can choose a person to kill; if a wolf, they die. If a villager, no effect. If the CHEMIST is turned, he instead creates poison and by the same timetable can kill villagers.

The PRIEST. If the wolves try to eat him he dies as usual but only after one hell of a fight. The wolves can't kill anybody the next night as they need to heal their holy water and crucifix burns.

Necromancer sounds interesting, but complicated with raising slain villagers. One question about it though: what do you mean "chance he/she is caught"? Does the mod flip a coin or w/e?

Yeah, exactly. I went with 25/50/75/100. Each night there is a chance the necromancer is caught and revealed.. and may be hung or killed by wolves the next day.

But I figgured the moderater would have a deck of cards.. so on night one, it's automatically successful, on the second consecutive night of raising the dead, the mod would draw a card from a deck, if it was a diamond, the necromancer is caught, on the third night of consecutive raising the dead, the necromancer is caught if the card is red, on the 4th consecutive night of raising the dead, the necromancer is caught if the card isn't a club, and the necro is mentally retarded if he goes 5 nights in a row.

If it's not intrinsicly understood, the player is dead for all intents and purposes, and probably won't even be informed they've been raised as a zombie.

Can we please get an order for what happens in the village at night, and always resolve the night phase in that order?

    IE

1 Angel Chooses to protect someone
2 Alpha Wolf chooses to turn someone
3 Wolves choose to eat someone
4 Vig chooses to shoot someone
    5 Seer looks someone up.

That way we know for a fact if the seer looked someone up last night that the player is not a wolf. OR if the seer leads off, we know for a fact that the player had a chance to be the wolf.

If there are roles added, as long as at the beginning of the game, the order is established, and we know.... there will be a few less questions, and we can make decisions with definitive logical analysis.

I think the above resolution order doesn't suck and favors the village just a bit more than any other resolution order.

I'd change that a little, but next time we have a game where the roles change we can establish this.

Can we implement a Micheal J Fox aka Teenwolf role into this?

Not sure what his role would be, but it could be really un-PC and along the lines of - he's a normal villager, even the wolves don't know he's Teenwolf, but if the village tries to hang him, he dies, but so does the last villager to vote - of Parkinsons disease….he should prob have some special thing as well.

only a thought - I'm hungover and was hoping to get involved in Werewolf, but the village is fast asleep still......

If the village has a time limit, then the wolves should have a time limit. Personally, I liked it a lot better when we didn't have one.

I'd rather see a 24 hour limit on the village. Some of those long days in the last game were the best. Also consider that some people work 8-10 hour days and can't play from work.

I also agree that a 24 time limit would be better. 12 hours isn't enough for those who work and have lives or live in a different time zone.

24hr but 16 for wolves. wolves dont need more time than villagers to decide due to the fact that they actually know who all the villagers are.

Day should just last until the end of the next day. So if it opens today at noon, it shouldn't close until tomorrow at midnight.

Everyone seems divided on the whole day and night time thing?

Should I keep the wolves strat thread that is in the wolves den, or delete it? I was leaning towards delete.

Um, next werewolf is planned on Dec 1, mark your calendars?

I think the wolves should be able to vote on whether they want it open source, or whether they want it hidden. I'd love to be able to see it though.

    NEW ROLES

    the consultants/coaches/politicians/whatever
2 for the villagers and 2 for the wolves
the wolf ones would not be allowed to contact the wolves out side the gmae and maybe not know the identity of the woles
they can not be killed by anyone-
they can not looked up by the seer
    they cannnot vote
we all know that they are the consultants but unknown which side they are on

just a random thought on trying to keep the better players in the game
warpe, gabe, rilla , spenda bigred .......

i really haven't thought it through on how it would play out
and would probably need some adjustments to what they can do

This is ideas for next time? If not i can post it in that thread.

I propose Werewolf All Stars edition. Trip can for the most part pick the roster of people who would be participating if they have the time and want to participate. He's modded pretty much every WW I think and I'm sure he's got an idea on who should be in etc. This way the game would likely go levels deep and would probably be pretty entertaining to watch.

    Thoughts?
