Thing is, my crumb only looks like a mistake because I got nommed that night. But has anyone actually read the wolf den? I got nommed because I was quieter on d2, seemingly trying to avoid too much confrontation, not because they saw my crumb. And I got shot by the vig too, which means he didn't see my crumb. The idea was that it would be obviously a crumb AFTER I die, but before it's a case of maybe, maybe not. Maybe the wolves see it, but maybe the wolves level themselves into thinking that I'm just a careless villager, or deliberately trying to draw the nom. But once I die and people see I'm the seer, well then it's obvious because I literally said night action.

I thought the wolves nommed him because of his behavior. He was posting very un-Ongie. I thought it was obvious to the wolves that he was hiding something and trying to not fuck up like he says he normally does
So you know why I got nommed. It wasn't the crumb. It was my style. I'm not pretending I didn't make mistakes, but the crumb wasn't a mistake.

the big thing that stood out to me was ong reading the angel PM and then correcting the seer strat as a result.his incorrect d3 plan i suggested could be used to target ong after the seer got blocked on d3. i argued the point in game and i'm genuinely interested

who actually looked at the angel, seer and vig PMs at the start of the game ?

I bet that most vanillagers didn't bother looking at them else they would have commented on the error in Ongs seer strat.

guess i'm fucked now, gonna be a likely seer lookup and therefore wolf target or dead wolf in mid game

A village that does that makes it almost impossible for wolves to win

I do, but I also don't think this game or the other one proved any of that false. Every time the village wins without getting super lucky, it's through a process of boxing the wolves into a corner where they have to support things they otherwise wouldn't. Success for this doesn't always come to fruition. For sure we didn't do it right this game

Another thing: by far the most important wagon evaluation of the game was the Bikes one. In most games, the village would have been able to evaluate that, but in this game the vig shot on the same night, so instead of Day 5 being 4v3 and evaluating the new info, it was 3v3 and over

I'm not using that as an excuse, we did what we did and that's it. But there were some striking things about the Bikes wagon that made Keith and Scourrge look wolfier than they had been earlier. So it's kinda not fair to say that my proposed process for finding wolves doesn't work when that process assumes there would have been a 4v3 day

We got outplayed for sure, and even if we did better we probably still would have lost. But don't be hatin on the process. It works. You just gotta be sure to do it smart and diligently, which we didn't

I actually agreed with you when you attacked Wuf saying this was too simplistic and gave you town cred for it. meh

Yup. Although I feel like I've learned how to read you at least a little bit. I don't think as a villager you'd seriously consider me looking at keybored on n1. You do have wolf tells. Also you'll start to suffer from the same problem gator suffers from... he's a lot easier to lynch these days than he used to be. d1 keith wagon anyone? It's +ev.

Keith is defo readable. You just gotta figure out his unique style. I honestly never bothered to figure it out before since I knew it would be hard, but I think I have a handle on it now

This is a sick game on so many levels. Gotta thank baud for dragging me in. Deffo want to play again. So much to learn though. Feel like I was only privy to about 20% of what was going on and only on 1-1.5 of many levels.

but really no more slagging on Wuf. Knowing now that Wuf was a villager makes me appreciate the sentiment in this post, especially since I went 0-for-5 in picking wolves:

I've mulled this idea over a few times in the past. The idea that the people who display the most wolfy behavior are usually just villagers who aren't worried about getting caught as wolves since they know they're not. My standard line is to lynch the wolfiest regardless of any other factor. This obviously results in things like me getting on Baud and not getting off until he's dead. I think that's an okay strategy, but obviously, Baud was not a wolf. This isn't the first time a villager has looked wolfy and gotten lynched because of it. I'm not terribly results oriented, so made sure that my view of Baud was something that I would still believe even if he flipped villager, but it could be that my strategy of going after "the most obvious" wolf is wrong.

Baudib, in some ways, you play similar to myself. I remember in my first game, I thought it was easy to spot wolves and easy for villagers to see that I wasn't a wolf. But over time I realized that just isn't true. It is common for villagers to accuse other villagers for legitimate purposes. Finding wolves and convincing villagers that you're not a wolf is a tough gig

is laffing .......you said exactly the same thing last time i was a wolf and look where it got you .didn't you see in the wolf den where i deliberately changed the way that i played compared to the last time i was a wolf, just as i'll probably play different next time.

as rilla pointed out ..... I think that was a stroke of genius and has gotta be up there in the top 10 of all time wolf plays and I didn't even get called out over it either .

no one is willing to admit that they didn't read the angel PM and no one has said that they did read it either. i'm still pretty sure most villagers didn't bother cos its an angel , they protect someone everyone night big deal.

Meh it was only a good play because the village was bad enough to let you get away with it. I immediately called you out for it in the dead thread. You're relying too much on village sucking. I wouldn't call it a top ten wolf play, but then again I couldn't draw up a top ten list of ftr wolf plays. All I know is me boog and pascal win with the not nomming, obviously.

thats onlyu cos you knew that the crumb was about gator and not keybored otherwise its easy mistake for a villager to make and i did have to find it in the first place
  20. #1220
The point being, why the fuck would I lookup a noob who will get lynched at some stage in the game without my help? It has nothing to do with who I looked at, and everything to do with who I don't look at. As a villager, you'd be quick to point out that it's very unlikely I look at keybored; that's why I think your motives were obvious, at least to me.

counter point to that is why look up gator who the wolves usually eat first couple of days .
  22. #1222
Yeah but gator wolf doesn't get nommed does he? Also, he hasn't been nommed early for a while as I recall, because he's a lot easier to lynch these days.
