Default Are you willing to gamble and call here? (Stars $6.5 turbo)

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (5 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

    Hero (t1390)
    UTG (t2680)
    MP (t4330)
    Button (t950)
    SB (t4150)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9, 9.
1 fold, MP calls t200, Button raises to t950, 1 fold, Hero ???

Sorry, misread, thought you were MP... I think you have to take it, his pushing range includes many hands you are a 70/30 or better against. If MP had previously been very aggressive and then just calls is the only time I lay that down.

Yeah, I'd push in this situation. You have to go in a coin flip situation with only 6.5BB left (5.5 after posting one).

Button should be pushing with any two, so you are probably even better off than a coinflip if he's pushing any ace (A2-A8).

    Is he tight?

Unless op has not demonstated the ability to just push when desperate, I fold.

But I do call here frequently.

Unfortunately I didnt have a read on him. I put him on probably two overcards, but thought that a lower PP than mine was also possible. With that in mind and the fact that I only had around 7xBB left I pushed.

He had QJo and I won the race. Even though I knew he probably had two overs was it a bad push? Am I unhappy about a coinflip with around 7xBB left? I'm just thinking it might have been wiser if I had folded and found a better spot to put my money in. Thoughts?

I think he's pushing Ax/Kx or smaller pair enough times to make this a worthwhile call. If nothing else you're almost always at least a slight favorite.

If you pass up this opportunity you are not even guaranteed to get a better opportunity with the amount of chips you have left. Most likely, you will end up on the other side of the coinflip... which would you rather have, the pocket pair or the overcards.

This is about as it's going to get until you double up or go out.
