Default What's your line here with A9s on the button? (PS $5.50)

Call, raise to 300 (with the aim of c-betting if you miss the flop) or put CO all-in?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (7 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

    MP2 (t1270)
    CO (t875)
    Hero (t3280)
    SB (t2630)
    BB (t1310)
    UTG (t890)
    MP1 (t3245)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A, 9.
    3 folds, CO calls t100, Hero ?????

I don't play tourneys often, but I would raise to 300. Probably gonna knock out the blinds since they know it will cost them more to play more than likely with the short stack behind them. With only a call by the small stack I would put him on Q10 or K10 hoping to see the flop and I would guess he would fold to your raise, but if he goes AI I think you still have him beat.

With no reads, I'd say raise 3x and see what happens. Putting the CO all in immediately is a mistake, or at least I think so. What are you gonna do if the SB or BB pushes overtop of you?

I was gonna say push AI but you would hate it if sb wakes up with a hand, so i say raise it T400.. i'm looking to get CO heads up here.
if sb or bb call its not the end but you know ur up against something so your looking for T2P or flush draw to continue.

if sb push you're sure you're beat and can fold.

if BB pushes and CO calls well you have to call i think ( haven't done any math but seems right)

Ideally bb and sb folds and if CO pushes/calls its ok, if he folds also even better.
Success is how high you bounce after hitting bottom.

You're sitting on 32+ BBs! Pushing allin is atrocious. Is there any reason why you want to play this hand? For example, is CO is donkey? Can you poker?

    Your options:
Fold - no need to discuss, but has merit
Call - lots of good reasons here, but if you don't hit the flop hard, or even medium, I think you should check behind if checked to. You do not need to win this hand to win the tournament.
Raise - to ~ 250, because you want to avoid a 4 handed flop, and that you think you can take down the pot postflop 50+% of the time UI.

this is bad advise i think......with a guy limping with 700 behind afterwards he is going to push all in to the raise 85% of the time. Im either calling or folding here. If i was going to raise i raise 2.5x in this spot to be able to muck and not get committed.

I actually meant put the CO all in (so raise to 900) not push all in myself, agree there is no reason to push AI here.

Anyway, this is the rest of the hand, is this horrible? Should I have raised PF if I wanted to try to take it away on the flop?

Preflop: Hero is Button with A, 9.
3 folds, CO calls t100, Hero calls t100, SB completes, BB checks.

    Flop: (t400) 2, 5, 7 (4 players)
SB bets t100, BB folds, CO folds, Hero raises to t400, SB calls t300.

    Turn: (t1200) 6 (2 players)
    SB checks, Hero checks.

    River: (t1200) K (2 players)
    SB bets t400, Hero folds.
