I have been playing sit-n-go's for a very long time and still have a positive ROI% doing so. I would have to say that playing 9-18man sit-n-go's is the easiest way for any player with a small bankroll to Run it up to any number they wish. Keep in mind that bankroll management is ALWAYS the best idea and key to this. You cant win them all. Playing "Tight" is'nt good enough. Play "TIGHTER" then you ever have before. I'm talking fold all AJ, AQ, KQ, KJ,88,77 and hands like these in any postion early on till about 5 left out of 9 and 8 left out of 18 man sit-n-gos. If you have the ability to fold these hands in any position early on in these kind of sit-n-gos you will do great. TRUST ME. ~~Control & Disciplin~~ .. You do not want to bleed your stack in these kind of tournaments. You should raise everyhand that you wanna see a flop with. Thus meaning fold all that crap you normally play. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE. HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE.

Good advice! But you should be a bit more detailed. It is good to be tight in early and middle rounds, but when blinds are going bigger you just cant wait for good hands. Then you must be agressive and steal blinds.

Whilst I think that new players can definitely benefit from general advice like this, particularly if they are limping crap like QJo from early position, I think it's hard to give general advice like this. There are always situations where heeding a general statement like "fold AQ, 88 and 77 in early position" may not be the best course of action.

this is especially true as you move up in stakes. When you hit the 22's and 33's you will notice that you end up with 6-8 players still in the game with the blinds hit 75/150 or even 100/200. If you haven't accumulated chips in these games your success will be limited to making correct ICM plays, avoiding monster hands and hoping your hands hold up.

Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

I love playing these double up tourneys...other than freerolls, they are my quickest way to increasing my bankroll.
