How does everyone here figure out how to take advantage of specific weaknesses at a table. For example, if someone is seeing too many flops with marginal cards, or if they're over aggressive etc.
Is this something you keep track of in your head? If so, what is the thought process. Is their a first thing you look for on the table followed by a second and stuff like that. I know this isn't very specific, but what I mean is first you might evaluate the table dynamic, and then maybe second you might single out the weak players. Then the rocks to avoid.
How does everyone go about this? Do you take notes? If so, how do you take them. What kind of short hand do you use? What is important for you to know? Is there a book on the subject? I really wanna get into "on the fly" table evaluation to maximize my ability to take advantage of specific conditions that exist on the table, but I'm not sure where to start in that regard. I want to start forming a mental process which many of you find automatic at this point.
What's are the things you look for, expose, and exploit during your first few minutes at a sit and go and beyond?

It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

First I will note the screen names and see if I already have notes on those players. After 2-3 orbits, I will not players as slow, loose, tight. I will note betting patterns and match raises to hole cards (pre-flop). I will note who plays draws and if they play them against pot odds.
One final thing I will look at is are there any players that will call anything, becuase these people can not be bluffed.
I will also look for the weak blind defenders because as the blinds ratchet up, these players become my ATM.

Since I dont play much at the begginging i never take notes like for the first 20 min, when it gets to 6 handed o so, i start seeing who doesnt defend their blinds, who gets scared by a re raise even when they have a hand, who always defends hjis blinds, who min bets when he has gold etc. The game is so much more importanty when it gets 6 handed, the other 3 players i dont care about, although i may take some notes on them i just dont usually do

I would agree with aok's style of commenting. I would, however, like to emphasize elanto's comment. You really shouldn't be playing the first few rounds unless you're getting monster hands, it's just not worth it. Reads become a lot easier and a little more accurate (incorrect reads can hurt more than no read) since the blinds are becoming high and people have to actually play their style, etc.
This really has nothing to do with the topic but I just wanted to bring up the fact that some guy sat out after the 3rd hand of the game and ended up placing third in my 9 person SNG yesterday. It's amazing how tight is right in the first rounds can pay off huge.

I see your point, but I think you can still pickup some useful reads in the first several rounds.
