Post subject: Small buy-in/Small field ROI Question

Ok I've been searching for a while so I wouldn't have to post one of these kinds of questions in here, but I can't find any results (Maybe I search bad). What kind of ROI is realistic in low buy-in tourneys (freezeouts) with fields of 100-ish that pay top 10%? I guess I'm just looking for what would be considered average and what would be considered pretty solid.

Probably somewhere around 40% for one of the best players in the field. They usually have craptastic structures and don't last long enough for someone's ROI to be higher than that.

martin... the stars 180 man sng's have standard structures... 1500 starting chips, 15 min levels.
my ROI before 01/08 was -7%... 500 games.
in 2008 its 81%.... 1000 games.
these guys are regulars... cvail001, dick hertz, xmachine888, sirswish, agonymuffin, mellmish. not sure all the spellings are right buy you should be able to find them.

I'd say 'average ROI' would be less in super micro buy-ins. In early going I think you'd be lucky to find 2 players on your table with a pos. ROI (my experience anyways,.. and I have all stats. run for all players, all the time, in all tourneys, lol). I'm guessing you're referring to the 180-plyr. ones on Stars?? (which I don't play in, but have) and am guessing (as buddy mentioned above) there are probably ALOT of regulars in those ones. Actually, in the tourneys I play regularly, I find there's alot of regulars in all of them.
It's taken me some time to find tourneys I like the most (can't stand cheap Mtts on Stars,.... ugh... play is freak'n terrible),... and am still looking (but have a few I'd say I'm a regular on).
My experience, generally, in higher buy-ins you'll find a larger percentage of players with a +ROI (and some that just like to lose money,... and LOTS of it --- you'd think they'd be motivated for finding new avenues for 'learning' instead of just donking off their chips in hopes of making a 'lottery-type' play??
If ya find something decent,... let me know will ya?
PS... 'solution'.... make a bigger deposit and play in bigger buy-ins, lol

30% to 50% typically over a ;arge sample size would be good. 50% to 100% would be very good.
