I don't like the river bet, i'd fold, even if it's weak.

To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

Tough to put him on hand. I think you're beat but the pot is big enough to require a call in case he is bluffing.

I'd raise more than that as the bb and then bet the pot on the flop.
I'd call because given this betting pattern, If I were villain I'd pull this move with a random ace.

well i was thinking he had either flush draw on the flop or 89 for straight draw but thought flush draw seemed more likely. and betting the flush on this river isn't terrible when people like aces are going to call with Js and some people will even call with A high.

I think your check on the turn and river warrants this call. By checking twice, you showed weakness. I can't recall which book it is in, but there's a chapter that talks about inducing bluffs. I believe it was Mike Caro. Anyhow, your play induced a bluff. Good call.

Checking the river is good, it induces bluffs and doesnt allow your opponent to blow you out of the water with a lead on the river when you probably ahead.
