Villain is 24/3 over the 66 hands in this SNG so far. He folded his small blind a couple of times to give me a walk in the BB. On the only occasion he open limped, he had As6s, I had KK and raised - he called. The flop was Ah 7h 5h and he minbet the flop then the turn, which I folded.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 3.4 Tournament, 75/150 Blinds (5 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

Hero (BB) (t1140)
UTG (t2145)
MP (t3455)
Button (t5150)
villain (SB) (t1610)

Hero's M: 5.07

Preflop: Hero is BB with 3, J
3 folds, villain calls t75, Hero checks

Flop: (t300) 4, 2, J (2 players)
villain bets t150, Hero raises to t450, villain raises to t750, , Hero?

Pre-flop, I thought his range was any PP, Ace, decent K (K8+?), broadway and reasonable connectors J9s, 87o, 54s. Although I had a shortish stack, I did not think J3s was strong enough to shove.

After he minbet on the flop, with my hand of TP no kicker, no possible action seemed good.

If I called, then I would not know what to do if he bet again on the turn (or river). I could end up calling off my stack with a losing hand or folding to A high.

Folding on the flop with TP seemed very weak tight.

Shoving might have won the pot if he did have A high or something like A4, but if he had a decent jack or better then I would be gone. And I did not think that he would fold many hands beating me to a shove.

So in the end I raised, hoping he would fold, but he re-raised. At that point I realised raising the flop probably wasn't the best option as I had half my stack in the pot. But there seemed to be a huge possibility I was beaten, so its a clear fold?

I think I played this hand badly, but am not sure what would be better.

I can't see myself ever folding top pair any kicker with less than 8x BB against an SB limp. I shove over his minbet on the flop and expect to be ahead. If he has me beat, I just fire up another one, that's just bad luck.

As played, once you have more than half your stack in the pot, you can't ever fold top pair. This problem could have been avoided by just shoving over his minbet in the first place.
