Crap my fault for not raising on the turn? But I was afraid of the set, especially since he called my raise, and then led out again on the turn.

Gotta love the fishy stop'n go.

With 10/20 blinds I'm not sure I want to be playing a big pot with AJo...

Ack. I hate when people play like that. He got lucky, hit his five outs and then didn't even bet out when he hit it. I think you played it well, even though it would be tempting to raise the turn as well. Given the way he played and what he showed, I doubt he'd fold to anything but a reckless bet on the turn anyway. I hope you took your chips back from this guy before the tourney ended.[/quote]

1st hand - good fold, I might've bet more on the turn. Fearless is the key here; with a bet of 100 you're saying I'm afraid of you're hand, but I have something and must bet; with a bet of 500, you're saying 'play the hand you're repping for 1/3 of your stack if you want to.'

Second one, hey, sometimes you gotta push.

how much do you suggest raising to with AJo with one limper with the blinds at 20.

with the call of the raise preflop, what range of hands do you think he has?

he bet the flop and I figured my hand was still better so I reraised him to get an answer. He called, what range of hands does he have now?

Would your answer be different if I was playing at the 100s instead of the 5s?

Rippy, how would you have played it?

I think his flop raise is fine. The turn is debatable. He's balancing protecting a top pair hand with deep money vs giving too much overlay to a bigger hand. Getting outdrawn sucks, but he only lost 100 chips on the river.

With larger blinds this is a much more straightforward hand to play.

Pre-flop he raised to 4x the BB. A pretty good bring in that makes it easy to get away from his hand.

On the flop, there is 170 in the pot + a bet of 80. He raised to 240, a full pot bet per pot limit rules would have been (170 + 80 + 80) + 80 = 410 flat. He raised half-pot which wasn't bad and gave him room to fold to a re-raise.

I think the chips are too deep to play it that aggro. Is this the hand you want to bet your tourney on?

Appreciate the feedback you guys gave yesterday. Rippy and Fnord, I’ll be hunting you both down on Stars in the next few days to watch and learn.

Anyway, in an effort to seriously improve my game, I thought I would try and watch other people in general sso, was another re-raise on the turn not an option?
