STBY (loved that from another thread)

You could have let it go... checked it to him and seen what he'd have done on the turn... maybe cut your losses, but to be completely honest I would likely have done the same.
I built my own poker table... Check It Out

I am guessing from the blind structure this is Party Poker.

Well you raised from to 60 from the blinds at 15 which is 4x the BB.

He flopped a flush draw so he called your 200 bet.

Then he flopped a pair. You go all in he calls my opinion hes fish and probably didnt last long in this tourney. Something you call that player lagg loose aggressive player.

Only advise here is since its first hand dont be afraid to raise 6-7 xbb so draws wont happen. Sure you might not get any callers but what can u do.

You played it well Bad beats suck. Dont let it get to you.

Thank you. I will keep that in mind.

Thank you for replies. Not that I need an attaboy but I'm in a week of slump after a couple of months of mediocre success. I hate the slumps.

STBY, you got it in with the best of it. The cards just didn't come through. Unless he had an enormous stack, he overplayed his hand and won.

Tough beat - forget it and move on.

The only thing I may have done differently is bet stronger on the flop to scare off any flush draws.
If you put all your faith in the river, you are up shit's creek

After I saw all the limpers I thought a 10xBB raise would drive out the junk hands. Didn't think I'd get called by players holding QJ offsuit and 89 offsuit.

Oh well

Gotta Love the Kowboys

OK. This one just happened too.

Do I need to just go all in anytime there is a flush draw on board? Is that my mistake. I think now I will. Would you have in this situation. I guess I knew with the call and the player it was a flush draw but I think the odds are 1 in 5 the diamond will come on river. Odds are not on my side this week.

Actually I think the odds for him to beat me on river are worse than 1 to 5 since I had the set and the Ad. He had 7 outs. Correct? That's only 15% on the river.

I know STBM. I just played in one of those freebie MTT at Stars. I was doing pretty well into 7th round. Got the set of Kings on flop after standard raises. Went all in. Only got called because he had big chip stack and inside str draw. He pulled out str 7 to jack. He hit that hand twice in a row. Eliminating me and one other. No great heartache as I was just playing for experience.

I'm sorry that this is not strategy but seemed the place to post and the end of my other thread. Guess I should take a few days off.
