How do you play this? Villian is trying to limp into most pots. I'm getting near 10BB, nearing the bubble(6 places paid) is this a raise or a shove?

If he limps into most pots shove it
This is not my signature. I just write this at the bottom of every post.

Chardrian, may I ask why this is a shove and not a raise to say, 2000?

Some things that would influence my play might be:
1. What hands has villain shown down when he has limped?
2. What is my image?
3. There is a huge stack behind me, how has he been playing (e.g. does he love to shove when there are a number of limpers infront of him? Has he called all ins with marginal hands?)

if we get shoved over we have to call anyway but shoving might make a hand like AQ/KQ fold and will for sure fold QJ and probably KJ

If you happen to get cold called you're probably going to have to play the hand but it's awkward with TT.

TT is strong enough to get it in with but weak enough that we really don't need to be taking a flop.
Check out my self-deprecation here!

Your image doesn't matter with 12 BBs; huge stack behind you doesn't matter with 12 BBs.

Sounds to me like you are wanting to raise to 2k so that you can fold to a shove which is just bad w/TT in that spot.

If you are doing it to induce a worse hand to shove it is fine, but the standard play here is just to shove.

My thinking was more along the lines of "why shove when the only hands that are going to call you have you flipping a coin maybe 80% or crushed the other 20%?".

I would never fold TT if villian pushes me in with M of 12.

Nearly anyone calling your raise is flipping against you. It would be much better to just shove and fold out some of those coinflips, taking down a pot that is already 1500+ chips (any antes?), and that will leave you closer to 15BB instead of 10BB. Maybe someone will make a bad call with 77-99 or AT and you will double up.

First of all you are wrong that of the hands that call you 80% you are flipping with and 20% are crushing you. You only have 12 BBs so you will often get called by any pair, and hands like A8.

Second, you are increasing your stack by like 25% even if everyone does fold, and that is fine.
