you wouldn't have had to fold if you had raised preflop to avoid this situation with the blinds in the pot

right, gotcha, didn't read that first sentence, just jumped straight to the hand history part. good play then if you think there will be a raise, unluckily for you they didn't reraise but i cost you almost none of your stack to have a good chance of winning a big hand if someone played back at you preflop.

thx for posting a good laydown, we need more of em. Too many people focus on the bad beats and foget all the great plays they made. I think you become a better player if you dont ignore the postive.

Another thing, limping plus re-raise just screams AA to me which is why I use it as a bluff when I sense weakness in a few particular senarios. What do people think about it as a play when you actually have AA?

first problem was aces that should have been raised preflop

this is after the rebuy period rather take some with a raise...

uhmm you should have raised? dont let someone with king duey from 2 pairs man. If you would have raised, he would have folded...and you would have had a nice show down with the guy on the flush draw

He tried to limp-raise because the table was agressive. If it ends up not getting raised like that, then yes you have to be worried about the blinds hands flopping 2 pair or better - which is what he did by making a good fold.

you RARELY limp-raise. I'm not saying it's a bad play. (If it's done at the right time) but you never give anybody chance to hit anything by u just calling the BB. He could have raised 3x or 4xbb before the flop and just check after the flop...have someone bet into him or something like that.

Once again, it was a good fold but the real question is would you have laid that down if you could have absorbed the chip loss by calling his all in?

Meh, I disagree with this automatic raising of aces as a rule. I'll admit I rarely limp rockets, but in the right situation it can be a great move. If you're fairly confident of a raise from an aggressive table it can be a nice move to mix things up.

I liked the move. Too bad it didn't work out, but great that you could let it go.

but if he raised preflop he should drive the BB out of the pot preflop and take down some chips
