I have a new love. There are a couple of companies going around to all the bars and hosting FREE ENTRY NLHE tournaments. The top 3 pay out with gift certificates and winners get an entry to a later tournament that awards a vegas vacation.

I went to my first one a couple of nights ago. There is a lot of crap out there. (I don't think you can call it dead money when there is no money) but there are also a lot of good players. (that was surprising to me)

I think my holdem game is pretty strong, but one of my weaknesses is tournaments. I just found a practically free way to get experience and improve my game (hopefully)

There were about 50 entrys and I placed about 15th. It was my first time. I'm going back tonight to try again.

The only bad thing is I keep telling myself it's free, but I usually spend as much on beer as I usually do on poker, so it really costs the same.

I'm really excited about this. It's friggin cool.

It makes no difference anyway.
