Default did i over value TP TK here???

Should i call this river bet? Or maybe played the hand differently anywhere, like a bigger C-bet maybe, or even jam it in pre flop?

a little town called none of your goddamn business
gross spot, its actually really hard for him to have a 3 or an 8 here. You only have 10k left so its a <2/3 pot bet. I'd be kind of tempted to call this. I guess put him on 88 and fold. I doubt he's turning like QT into a bluff or something.

Really tough spot though, I wouldn't fault you for either play. Pre/flop/turn are all fine.

Thanks again for the feed back. I did actually call and he turned over pocket 3's... to my devastation!! I did contemplate him having 77 on the turn and tried to price him out of the draw. 33 didn't even come into my mind. Maybe i could of taken more time to think things through but even then, I reckon i would still call given the odds of him having 88 or 33.

I probably bet the flop a little bigger but it's not a big deal.

As played, it's a tough spot because you've got half your stack in the pot, but since blinds are only 125/250 you've still got a lot of play left if you fold. I probably cry and call as players at a $2 tourney might do this with lots of hands you beat, including Qx and maybe even nonsense like 7x.

Usually when fish donk the river like this on 4 straightening boards it is because they just got there and wanna shovel money in with their new found hand strength. I don't see a lot of fish turning showdown equity hands into bluffs on these boards , so I would fold .

It seems weird if they call the turn with a gut-shot (maybe with 88 but don't know much else).

As has been said before, tough spot either way. Either play isn't great.

You've already invested half of your stack, but you would still have a ton of big blinds left if you folded.

I'd probably make a crying call, and hope the other person is bluffing with some ridiculous hand.

I'm wondering whether villain made a good value bet on the river with the dummy end of the straight?
(the flop call was less than preflop, turn called probably because open ended and set mining).

Villain just called two streets with junk, I think it's fair to say he's terrible.

I think my calling range here is QQ and any 8x I found a 3bet with.

This is such an instafold. Obv you cry when you do it, but they have it about 110% of the time here.

I dunno about insta. I mean first I laugh, and then call him a wanker. That takes time.

Yeah i can see it now... when you get so much feed back saying it's a sure fold, it makes you take note and re evaluate how to react with certain boards... some of them are not favorable. simple as that. Just finished a book, the poker mind set, really puts things into perspective, especially for beginners like myself. Combined with everyone's evaluation of this hand, it's a simple shrug of the shoulders... fold and move on. Thanks for the feedback

There's no hard and fast rules in poker, but this is as close as it comes to one (especially at these stakes).

Pretty tough one for you. Very hard for you to put him on 33 in a situation like that. You played the hand okay and he got lucky. Not much you can do about that. It happens and I guess you just hope you keep running into guys like that so that you get paid off more than you lose.

run into situations like this 2 many times. they don't put there stack up unless there on a winner, if its to good to be true it usually is . take the fold move on . I off put him on trips. a pair off QQ not good enough on this board to call a shove.

I agree I have started to compare playing against donks to when u played a fighting game with your sister when you were young, it seems like all they are doing is clicking buttons, but sometimes they just kick your @ss doing it. I would of folded here as well they chase, chase then when they hit I don't think they really know how to play it so they shove, or overbet. At least that's what I have been seeing.

Easy fold, he overbet the pot: he could have 78 and some two pair but in that case i think he don´t play at this form. You could bet more flop, the size is good in turn and Fold river is the best in my opinion

It's a fold. He has 3s and 8s sometimes, and there are plenty other hands that beat you. Tough spot, but nonetheless a fold.
