Um... you won't call 1/7 the pot with a pair over pair? You need to come over to my house some time.

I'd probably raise the pot on the flop, that 70 bet was pretty weak, the guy was obviously scared of something, so I think he may have a weak king and could easily be forced out to a big (pot sized) raise.

It is a super weak bet, 70 into 600. It's SO weak, in fact that it sticks of trap.
But even if he has a weak king
1) there is no guarentee he will lay it down.,
2) there are two other guys behind him that could be sitting on a T or K, and on of them outstacks our hero.
It's super early in a $5 SNG... I am pretty sure he is going to get called down by top two. Plus, mrmccann did open min-raise UTG... so it's more likely he has a decent K like KJ or KQ (I guess KT or AT is somewhat unlikely in retrospect.
The other possiblity is that he has a (lower) pocket pair, like 9s. It does look pretty weak with the check behind on the turn, and then a river steal
I could see either laying down the QQ, or raising the flop to see where you stand. The question is... how much are you willing to throw away if you are re-raised by bettor or guys behind. It's a pretty big pot 670 chips; you would probably have to bet at least 400.
It's early, you have no real read... not a bad lay down. Not sure I would crow about it though, since maybe you got bluffed off

I think it was a good laydown. I lost like 1/3 my stack in an MTT calling down with QQ against a K on board (I just didnt think he had it!!). He never put me all-in or anything like that so I guess he was just afraid of a kicker or something. Shoulda layed it down.

I make the same play here, given the circumstances.
I'll hope to have a nicer hand to beat them over the head with later - against that board, you're really just hoping to steal the pot, and
- Early in a tournament
- 4 players still involved, one of which has you covered
- out of position
isn't the time to start firing.

Thanks for all the replys!!
The reason I played it as I did was, one, it was kinda early in a 5$sng, so still lots of maniacs left and I didnt really have a tell on any of the ones in the pot. And two, I found that the easiest way to win this sort of low stakes tournaments, is to lay low during the first half, and then play light agressive when the worst suckers have been weeded out. Theres no fun getting kicked out early cause someone decided he had to go for that straigt draw or something like that.
Im not claiming to be an expert, not by a longshot, I just didnt feel like going into a betting circus with three other ppl when both a 10 or a king on any of em would beat me. And since the pot already was this high, I was sure someone sooner or later was gonna try to take it with a big bet, in wich case I would prolly just fold anyway.
Hehe =D

Wouldn't you figure this would be a reason for you NOT to call?
