Default The Biggest Mistakes Made By Beginner Poker Players

Poker players who are just starting out to play and learn the game often make very common mistakes that can be avoided by adhering to a few common principles. Although it has often been said that in order to learn the game of poker, you have to take your lumps and lose a bit before you get a better feel or understanding of the game, some of the losses most beginning players experience while learning can be negated. We will look at some of the most common mistakes made by beginner poker players and explain how to avoid them, thereby saving yourself plenty of money.

FTR's biggest tournament leaks: jamming when they should be flatting or raising less than all-in and being scared of over cards on the flop.

I tend to have this issue when I am deep after playing hours of good poker then BOOM!
"You start the game with a full pot o’ luck and an empty pot o’ experience...
The object is to fill the pot of experience before you empty the pot of luck."

No but if you're aware of them, you'll be in a much better position to correct them or get advice from people who have corrected them before

Of course you are right, but some mistakes I think it takes time or maybe they just don't go away...

I give you an example of one I do over and over again - and I am very clearly aware of it.

Say I push with a hand, and it is a semibluff - or it is legit but not the nuts -
as we move on in the hand - it becomes clear to me that I am behind
several times - I keep pushing or worse calling - knowing in my bones that I am behind, even the "little voice" is telling me to quit and save the balance of my stack for an other hand - BUT NO - some sort of blind stubbornness - practically makes me sacrifice my chips. I have this NEED to challenge luck - sort of don't want to believe that it can be so cruel that I got in the situation...
Not sure I am explaining anywhere near well this "mind game" that makes me lose chips/games more often than it need be.
Also TBH - never tried to explain to anyone - no idea if anyone else has encountered something similar.

So here it went - I wrote it down - I AM/have been fully aware of it - and doubt that posting it will help me... but here it is.

I think pascal is correct. Writing, acknowledging negative play inclinations gives the malleable player the CHANCE to alter their play. Are many of us stubborn/pigheaded etc., of course. On line play is particularly prone to this thinking as one can hide behind the internet. I found live play has a way of motivating behavior mod in even the most stubborn player if that player is teachable (self or instructed) at all!! MUCH MORE EMBARRASING...IMHO!!
What MUST be, most surely SHALL be!!

GIENT POKER ??!! OK i think the biggest mistake they make is over valuing hands like QK J10 KJ K10 JQ A2 A3 any hand with paint and suited cards of any denomination , and also position on the table (or how important position is or what table pos is) . OK and and or or lol

    biggest mistakes rookie posters make?
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

They wait for the river to bet very big (too late, too greedy, too obvious), they bet small und often the same laughable amounts, when they lead ooP in the pot with draws, top pair baby kicker, second/third (or under-) pair and so on - i see this every day.
