well, not so big yet. hopefully it will be. basically, a lot of people post here ask whether we should push this or that in this or that situation. why not just have 1 single thread asking the question? you ask, people answer. that's it.

i'll start off.
stacks 5954, 3315, 1950 (me in SB), 2281 (BB)
fold, fold. i push with 22 in the SB. easy push right?

SNGPT/SNG Wiz is your friend in these sorts of situations.

Assuming blinds are 100/200 or above, easy push for me. Unless BB is an idiot he won't call you wide here. Plus in most situations if you're called, you're usually a 50/50 or 55/45 favourite.

i put it into the sngwiz trial.
the point between pushing/folding is when BB's calling range is ~35%.

Considering the type of players, I don't think it's bad, but I don't think that you have to.

You're probably behind a pair here unless he's playing some kind of read. The pot makes it +EV anyway. I like it.
Check out my self-deprecation here!

his push says he's got a hand that wants to take it down right now, and not necessarily strong enough to see the flop and decide then. personally i don't like gambling so early in the tournament so i fold. but calling isn't bad, and might be better since you're at least 3:2 favourite (non PP more likely than PP)

This one is pretty standard for me readless. Min re-raise is not always AA or KK, particularly at these stakes (which I play too).

The other line would be to 4-bet him to 600 and see what he does.

Maybe reraise him to see what he does. Although, it's very hard for me to fold QQ no matter what stage.

swiggidy;
I don't think you did anything wrong here, I prefer not to play for all the chips early on with AK or even AKs. I play AK like I play my middle pocket pairs (7's-10's) limp with them from early and middle position and raise 9's-10's from late position, fold to re raise all in. Limping seems to save me a lot of trouble with AK and AQ. I can see the flop cheaply and there's no need to continuation bet if I miss, plus it conceals the strength of my hand. I play this way until I have around 10-12x BB at which point I am ready to play for all the chips. If raised to me I will normally re-raise all in with big slick. If in position, I will push all in pre-flop to steal so my opponents will call later when I have big pocket pair The down side to this is sometimes you can get outdraw by hands like small pairs and give your opponents a chance to make a big hand and you are drawing dead. I think for me the lesson to be learned is not to get married to AK, its a great hand when it improves but almost a rag when it misses the flop. TJ Cloutier says to play AK like you would play a pair of 10's. Just my $.02 worth.

^^ villains play, based partially off observation, and partially off timing screamed TT-JJ. Then I looked at the stats and got cold feet. If villains range is TT-KK I have odds, or if it's TT-AA, AQ+.

I know I'm again calling not pushing but I like this thread and it's still an all-in situation

I call the raise because I think I can take the pot post-flop from ISOP. Anosmics calling range is fairly (too?) tight. I was surprised he called.

Every gauntlett GMML and me are at the same table. He always acts like I'm making a move but gives my pushes respect. We've been talking shit and he's about to push any decent hand. I actually expected him to push this pre-flop and was waiting to call. If I limp/call I'm ahead of his range. If I push and he calls I'm way behind his range. I'm not sure how the eV for either works out.

i like the idea of this thread. One stop shop for pushing situations. Maybe another thread for calling shoves?
