I would fold it, he probably does not have a great hand otherwise he would C-R but I rather conserve chips then getting involved here

I'd put him on something like 10J, A10, or JQ for the open ender.
All which should be folded pre OOP but hey - some people just have to see a flop.
If this was later on I'd probably float with 2 overcards as backup but it's just too early here.

I agree I would just let this go and move on, too much chance of opp having some piece of this board, plus I don't know how much fold equity we have in this spot.

Floating is a strategy for deep stacks not shallow ones. If we were going to play this, IMO the only play is to shove over.

I meant if I had a bigger stack later. Although I know what you mean the game overall is short stacked relatively but it just works so much on Full Tilt. People stab the pot then completely give up when called. You don't even need to bet big on the turn. And I still wouldn't do it with air. We still have 2 overs.

If I had like 4-5k chips, I'd raise the flop to 500-600 and wouldn't put any more chips if he calls or reraises. There are lots of drawing hands in his range. Fold now.
