We always hear so much about the $12 180s, but no one talks about the $36s. Why is that? Is there a significant increase in skill there or something?
For those of you who play them, can you shed some light in my direction about them (in relation to the 12s) as I'm rolled to start grinding them, if possible.
Thanks

hey quick question about 180s in general....
I dont understand how you grind these, it just seems like 95%+ of the time ur barely getting your money back for finishing in the top 10%, 18th gives u like 2 buyins max..(another problem i have with mtt)...I think the 18/27 mans are much more profitable and consistent...
Any thoughts?

You just have to know how to play them and how to get up to the final two. In 180s, the variance is greater, but there are some very bad players playing, which mean that you'll have a higher ROI than in the 18/27 man tournies. If you know how to play a final table, these things are quite profitable.

Fire up lots and lots of them, because the players are so bad (watch how many crap out in the first 5 minutes) you'll make the money and FT far more often than average. Plus if you're a good STT player you'll again make the top 3 (where the real money is) more often than average.
One adjustment that I had to make from STTs is that the range of +EV pushes is considerably wider in MTTs than in STTs.

I ran at 50% ROI over 75 or so in 08. I was playing a lot of the 45 man $55s at the time and they were softer comparably.

maybe I should give the $55 45s a run...
It is so strange having a sizable roll now. There are so many options. Now, all i need to do is find 8-10 hours in a day to sit and play those big fields.
