Raise a bit more preflop. I like 250 to go preflop. As played, your c-bet on the flop is good, there is 425 in the pot, 250-300 is fine. Once opp calls your flop bet, I check the turn too. You don't have odds to call opp's turn bet (the pot is 925 and you need to call 400 so you're getting about 2.4 to 1. At best, assuming As and Ks are good outs, you have, 13 outs to improve on the river so you're 3 to 1 against) so the fold is fine.

Apart from raising a bit more preflop, I play this almost exactly the same (edit: assuming you did fold rather than push!).

Yes, no problem with the way you played it as long as you folded that turn. BTW, this could be any crap, including an Ace that paired it's kicker.

Is it bad that I would consider a push preflop here, if the big stack got there the way I suspect they did? Them being a loose donkey the most likely answer, and AK plays very well against their range... out of position/see all 5 cards blahblahblah... blinds are just big enough where you add 10% to your stack by taking it down preflop... At least in the $6 SNGs, big stack calls with Ax so often it's insane.

You played it fine, I think a made flush is also a possible holding

if villian has been very loose caller then check/folding flop is okay too.
texture of flop is fine for a c/b though

as a general note; early on a dont mind check/folding on certain flops

Personally, I think pushing pre-flop is a bad move unless you don't feel like you are working on the Kill Phill method of playing.

There is only one other player who isn't within 100 chips of your stack and you have an M of over 20. There is no need to push just to pick up 150 chips.

to push must be a loser longterm move. most calling hands at lower level will include PP down to 66 but only unpaired hands like AQ may call so we are usually getting in at a 55/45 underdog so with those odds we need the pot to balance up the equation to make it breakeven or profitable. and 150 in the pot here doesnt do that.
