Default $6.50 BvB, weird post flop

SB is a fish who likes suited cards (that is my note on him anyway)

My flop raise is a little interesting, but I figured I had a draw to the 2nd nuts, he's majorly unlikely to have hit this flop so I thought a semi-bluff was ok. I maybe expected a call (as fish tend to call when raised, and fold the next street), but figured it would buy me a free card for the river.

The turn really surprised me and half of me was like "Shove SHove!" The other couldn't work out what hand other than trips or a boat would play it this way, so I defaulted to calling. I don't like the call, but I'm not folding vs this type of fish here ever. I guess in the moment I doubted the shove so I clicked call. Probably a shove.

The river is a call right? Hence why I probably should have shoved the turn.

7 folds, SB calls t25, Hero checks

    Flop: (t100) 7, 2, 2 (2 players)
SB bets t50, Hero raises to t150, SB calls t100

    Turn: (t400) K (2 players)
SB bets t210, Hero calls t210

    River: (t820) 8 (2 players)
    SB bets t790 (All-In), Hero?
This is not my signature. I just write this at the bottom of every post.

Yeah I def. call the river, he could have a lot of stupid things, probably something like 87. Def. shove the turn.

I would raise a little more on the flop if you are going to semi-bluff, I make it 200 to go.

As played, I shove over his turn bet with top pair and the second nut flush draw. Saves you from having to make something of a tough decision on the river.

What stupid things can he have? If he has a legitimate hand, he can only really have 7x, 2x, Kx and pocket pairs. He's turning 7x and pocket pairs into a bluff against someone who raised the flop and called on the turn, and all 2x/Kx hands beat you bar other combos of K3. Most donks won't bet a bare flush draw again on the turn, so he's not all that likely to be shoving a busted draw on the riv.

I don't like a turn shove either. You're not folding out anything that beats you, and I don't think you get called enough by the rest of his range. Does he call a shove with 88 here? A7?

Mind you, I simply would not have raised the flop. The pot's not big enough imo to make the risk worthwhile.

You may not fold out anything that beats you, but there are plenty of hands (pocket pairs between 2 and K) that will call a turn shove.

Fair point, I would probably have just called the donkminbet myself too.

Well, pairs bigger than 7 you'd expect to raise pre, so there aren't that many pairs available. You raised the flop and now you're shoving the turn. Does he ever think 33 is good here? What are you shoving here that 33 beats? You are basically having to parlay that he a/ has 33-66 (or is passive enough not to raise 88+ and doesn't shove them over your flop raise) b/ puts you on flush draw on flop c/ denies you the free card on turn instead of just trying to show his hand down d/ decides you still only have FD when you shove over and calls shove.

Good luck with that. I'd be pretty surprised to see 33 if I took this line, a bit less surprised to see 88, although still a bit, and not surprised at all to see something that smashes me when I'm called.

Call if you've seen him be fishy
