Default $6.50 AJo Flops TP against BB caller

Early game, no reads. (Other than this was Saturday night, I was multitabling, he appeared on only this table, hence I viewed him as a fish not a reg.)

The 3x raise was not my usual. I can't remember why I didn't make it 80, probably in middle of HU somewhere and figured as I was in LP I didn't need to raise so big. No need to comment pf please.

I interested in post flop. Is this a vbet on river or a check behind. How serious should I view his flop lead, and what range do we put him on?

I think river is a definite bet. He has a ton of worse Js or even underpairs in his range here, as it's an unlikely flop for you to have hit.

I would raise a little more on the flop (say 180-200). There's no reason to believe we're beat here and your raise gives opp very good odds (3.5 to 1) to continue (albeit that flop is very dry).

As played, I only make it 1/2 pot on the turn rather than 3/4, particularly because the board is draw free, and if we're going to get check-raised on the turn it saves us a few chips if we want to fold to a C-R AI. It also keeps the pot a little smaller so we're not pot committed by any bet on the river.

On the river, I actually don't see any reason to believe we're beat here and a bunch of hands that we beat will call a bet (KJ, QJ, JT, maybe even 88-TT) so I bet 500 and call a shove.

Tai as there are no draws, why not bet larger on the turn to squeeze value out of those hands we just mentioned. Can't see folding to CRAI on this turn vs likely fish so why not make him pay more?

If I think opp is a fish and will call a reasonable bet on the turn, I'll bet about 2/3rds pot. So I like the turn line here. I'd probably bet less than 500 on the river though, as I want to draw opp into calling with underpairs or Jx.

I don't hate betting 2/3 pot on the turn, but by doing so you basically put yourself into a situation where you are pot committed by any bet on the river.

If Hero pops in 1/2 pot here and is called on the turn, there is 900 in the pot with Hero having about 1000 chips behind. He will get almost 2:1 on a call if opp pushes AI on river. Is Hero not pot-committed anyway?

Yeah, I guess you're right. Either way, if opp is a bad player (although Ginger had no reads) then I'm not afraid to get it AI with TPTK.

You have no reason to believe your hand is beat, he probably have a worse J, I would value bet around 650 here

    bet river

re: flop lead, I would assume he bet to see where he was at, you told him, then he decided not to listen.
