    Default $30 SnG Stats

A few weeks ago I started playing nothing but $30 SnGs all at pokerroom and just wanted ya'll to comment on my stats and also give me some tips on when to move up to the $50 or $100, here they are:

    Total Played: 64
    Up: $828

    In Money: 37.50%

    1st 14
    2nd 8
    3rd 2
    lost 40
    Total 64

    Thanks,
    Steven

Looks good to me, although you might want to play a few hundred sng's at the $30 level to make sure you can maintain this ITM percentage over a larger sample of games. In my opinion the skill level goes up drastically when you transition from $30 sngs to $50 sngs. Just something to keep in mind.

I am curious as to how the players are at Pokerroom since it is one of the only sites I havent played at. Are they as fishy as the ones on Party?
The only losing session is the one you learned nothing from.

    Thanks for the reply..

I find that he players are pretty fishy, but not so bad that it's hard to play against them, the $30 players are the ones who can beat the $5 and $10 and want to try their luck on the $30, so they're about average, which is the kind of player I like to play against

Another advantage is that pokerroom is pretty small, I sit down at a $30 and have played with 3 or 4 of the other players and have notes on them, they probably have notes on me, buts thats ok cause I think I have respect from them and they lay hands down, just something to think about

    Steven,

Hate to burst your bubble, but you itm percentage is just break even with the house rake. You will not continue to win that percentage when you make the top 3 indefinately. You need to get your itm percentage about 50% to even think about moving up.

Sorry dude, but you are just a break even player who has had a good run.

Probably too small of a sample size to reach a definite conclusion, but isn't it possible to have a lower ITM% if you play with a strategy that skews towards more 1st or 2nds and a little lower ITM%? Why isn't ROI a better indicator then ITM%?

I've played mostly $5-30 SNGs at Party, with a smattering of $50s and one $100. My conclusions are the skill level goes up some at each level, but not THAT much(I'm currently up about $700 and I've played probably 500 SNGs, so I consider myself a winning player). I'm curious as to what others have found that play 50/100/200 SNGs about the skill level there.

steven, next time give us your ROI not the ITM%, ROI is much more importnt and it reveals more information...A player who has 50% ITM but always finishes third has a negative ROI...just a thought

$50 SnGs at Paradise poker are extremely soft and easy.

I think Aces is right on here, I've played a little more since my post and here are my stats: (not sure if I calc ROI right, someone might want to enlighten me)

    Money Made: $984

    In Money: 38.89%

    1st 16
    2nd 8
    3rd 4
    lost 44
    Total 72

    ROI: 41.41%

I don't see how you can say I'm a break even player when I've made almost $1,000 in about 3 weeks of poker, thanks for all the replies

P.S. this is how I calc. ROI: take money won (984) and divide by money invested (72*33=2376) which is equal to 41.4%

Steven i guess, i can say what i say because i have 14 years experience playing just about every type of poker imaginable. When someone shows me stats that say they have won 14 sng's and only placed 3 twice, something is up. There is a lot of short term variance in poker and those results make me real nervous.

Now you say i have made 1000 dollars and you are trying to piss on my party and that is correct. You need a little rain here. If your 1, 2, and 3's were equal with 37.5% in the money, you are nothing but a breakeven player.

So you may be a wonderful shorthanded player and really shine when it gets down to 3, but no one shines quite that much, you have had a good run. Now work on your early game a little more so you get your itm up to 50% and then you will really have bragging rights.

    Good luck,

    soupie

I seem to get ITM around 50% of the time but my % of first place finishes is not nearly as good as yours. How bout I teach you my early game and you teach me your short game?? LOL....deal?
