Hello FTR, this is my first post here, so I would just like to say thank you to the mods and frequent posters to making this into such a valuable site. I play mostly NLHE on Tilt, and sometimes Stars. Right now, I'm trying to play nothing larger than $6 SNG's (apx. 2% of BR) and $3 MTT's (apx. 1% of BR).

Right now, I just finished reading HoH Vol. II, which was pretty fantastic IMO. I've now read Vol. I and Vol. II of HoH, Hold 'Em Poker, Hold 'Em Poker for Advanced Players, and most of NLHE Theory and Practice by Sklansky, as well as Phil Gordon's Little Green Book. I feel like at this point, I understand things like how to semi-bluff, making appropriate bet sizes in relation to odds and stack sizes, using ICM, etc. What I really want to do is become a more active thinker at the table, and play more proactively than reactively.

So what I'm looking for is another book that'll help stimulate my thinking at the table and my hand reading abilities. I figure HoH Vol. III is probably a pretty good book for that, and I'm sure it'll find it's way into my library soon. Theory of Poker might fall into the same boat. My question is what other books should I be interested in? There are probably similar threads on this, but this is a little more specific than just "what are good poker books." So thanks in advance!

Poker Orifice is an unknown quantity at this point
Have you read through the 'Sticky' section? There's some great stuff in there.
Not sure if you've played alot yet, but I find that you've got to put in a bit of volume, gaining experience so that you'll be playing more intuitively (ie. picking good spots to pick up pots that are there for the taking, etc. etc. etc.).
If you're playing SNG's (STT) I'd read Collin Moshmann's SNG Strategy.
There's a good NLHE tournament book but I don't really think it's relevant to playing micros..... might lead to fps a alot of the players on your tables in the MTTs won't be thinking much past their own two cards.
"Winning Poker Tournaments - One Hand At A Time" is by far the best NLHE Tournament book imo.... but its basicall geared toward higher online buyins. Lots of good stuff in it.... but maybe not all too relevant for micros as mentioned.
Check through the Sticky Sections.

Moshman is the way to go for SNGs.

Don't focus on the HOH books since cash is a completely different game than SNGs.

Disagree totally on Moshman. No offence but I've always wondered just how many who recommend Moshman have actually tried reading same. Methinks unless you are au fait with higher level maths, forget Sit n go Strategy. Also, even if maths is your thing, check out Moshman's lifetime poker winnings, and you might be surprised...

Get KillEveryone (the Elky Ed.) or Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand At A Time. Snyder's The Poker Tournament Formula (1&2) is not too bad at all, or much better still for cash games: Professional No Limit Holdem, written by players who've shown their talents repeatedly: Mehta, Miller & Flynn. All these alternative books to Moshman's, are written by persons who have more than proven themselves in poker play, have the winnings to prove it, and aren't esoterically mathematical in their approach. Nuff said.
