Does it contain any spyware? Or some other uncool things? Or is it just free to use?

I love that program but now have played far more than 1000 hands and would like to purchase the full version. The problem is anytime you install it it changes the little product code it uses to generate a registration key for you and they say they will give you 2 total so you can install it on 2 computers - but say you just format your hard drive twice on the same computer - that already puts you to a 3rd code and you wasted your 55 dollars. I figured it would have a better system for people who register but I guess this is the only sure way they can keep people from sharing the software with each other for free.

Just installed it, hadn't bothered yet since it's somewhat limit centeric.

AMAZING program...

Great to get solid metrics on where you're at.

Not too many surprises, playing too many hands but playing them aggressivly.

Damn, I just read this and I need to format my HD pretty soon, I might have to dig in the registry and find where this is at. I'm not losing this program after paying $55 for it.

Although I still have 1 more install before I have to do anything.

After reading this post I gave this a try. It is a nice way to gather information, both on how you are playing and on opponents.

There's a feature that lets you download statistics into your player notes. Its very easy to use and you can choose from a bunch of different things like % hands played, blind steal attempts, blind defense, and hands raised with.

I've only got about 200 hands in there, but I can see the value already.

I'm up to around 10,000 hands now, and thought i'd take a peek and look for leaks, well OMG!!!

The small Blind is down 20,000 tourney chips (I'm playing SnGs exclusivley) and the BB is down around 10k. I knew i was playing mediocre hands from the SB, but, i didn't think it was costing me this much!

With a game between 5-10 players its not as bad 12k but still bad and I think I can improve my tourney results if I keep my tight play to include the SB more.

I think positional play needs to be kept in my mind too, esp when i get a big hand and thinking of raising.

This is untrue. You are entitled to 2 codes when you buy the program for $55. The 2 codes are for those people that play on more than one computer. If you need to reformat, you simply send the new product ID that is created, the old code is deactivated and a new code is sent.

I've got a question related to Poker Tracker, but I didn't want to make a whole new thread for it.

Do any of you know if I can import hand histories from PokerPages? And if so, how would I go about doing that?

Pokertracker is very helpful. I also noticed that my SB in SnG games is my worst position. Its weird, I always thought I played kinda tight there. While there are improvements to be made, you will find all kind of helpful info from this program.

Oh well, thanks for letting me know.

You really should switch over to fish central (party poker). I used to only play on stars, because their tourney structure works better for me and I didnt want to keep up with two sites. But now I've started playing all my ring games on party. They will call your nut hand all the way down with their crap, in both limit and NL. So much fun 8-)
Is that guy still part of the forum??

After reading about Poker Tracker at FTR, I finally used some of my winnings to get it.

Importing hands from Party, PS and Paradise is very easy. You can set it to auto request hand histories every X minutes. Then you just use the Import feature to load the hands into your database. PT will even poll your POP3 email account to find histories that have been emailed. Very convenient.

The stats are awesome. You can see exactly how well you are doing with all starting cards. For example, if you are losing money when playing hands like KK, QQ, it is very easy for you to look at the hands in detail and find leaks in your game.

It also keeps track of your opponents, what hands they play, raise with, how much you win/lose to them, etc.

You can pull up any hand history, and even play it back in the built in hand replayer. PT has a screen where you can view all of your hands by hand strength, so you can see how you played your trips, straights, full houses, and how much money you are winning with them.

I spend a lot of time perusing my stats while I'm waiting for the next hand to start. Very productive time spent I think.

It keeps track of your results from MTT's and SNG's as well as ring games.

Great program, you must get it if you are serious at all about online poker.

lhoney,

what email account do you use for the hand history request system?

I'm curious to know because i have been unable to download anything from my email account at school, and this is a significant decision factor for me.

Mike, it's a regular POP3 email account at Cox.net (cable internet). Should work with any POP3 email. Or, you could just get it to request the histories, then save the histories to a text file and import them that way.

There is a free trial of 1000 hands, so give it a try.

Hi there.

I have downloaded the free version and I like it a lot. Does anyone know if there are plans to add code so that it will rate players of tourneys and not just ring games? It would be way more useful to me if it did and worth the purchase.

Thanks.
