Is this dude from FTR?
Also: http://www.beatnolimit.com/poker-ebook.html or http://www.killnolimit.com/
Wait, I think I knew about this, right? Videos are from FTRers? Could be wrong.

Sorry, he used to be an FTR reg - in fact I think he might have even been a mod at one point - so I thought people would be all over this.
Here's his site:
http://www.beatnolimit.com/
And here's the link to the e-book:
http://www.killnolimit.com/
The massive long spiel for the e-book is really cheesy - I was waiting for the free steak knives - but at the end of the day I'm pretty sure he's a winning high stakes player so probably knows what he's talking about.
I thought with his FTR heritage maybe some people here might have read it and might be able to comment on whether it is any good.

I knew this was in production, not that it had been launched.

I can't say anything about the book, but the huge red and green fonts look like he's selling Viagra and prescription drugs at discount prices.

Theres a name for those kinds of sites, forget what it is, but they're proven to be highly effective insofar as the general public goes.

I remember playing 6-max 25NL on Paradise with him back in 'the day'. If you go to the start of the shorthanded forum you'll find lots of his posts.

Exactly, which begs the question - what is his target audience? If he wants to appeal to complete beginners who don't know a flop from a turn or whether a full house beats a flush, then its probably not a bad approach. But in that case the content of what he is selling is not going to be worth any of us spending any money to get.
If on the other hand his content is designed for a more "sophisticated" poker consumer, but he has just used inappropriate marketing for that segment, then I'm much more interested.

He mod'ed the shorthanded forum when it was first set up.
last i knew he was a decent player, but the website just looks like a big marketing sign.
Be interested if there is any actual content that is worth the money to buy it

I chatted a bit with SmackinYaUp a couple of months ago and read some samples from the first chapters - they were pretty good for a beginner book.
I can't speak for the quality of the finished book, since I haven't seen it, but I'm fairly confident that it is a good book for new players. Someone who are crushing probably won't get that much out of it.
Since I haven't posted on FTR in 3 years I just want to mention that I found the thread because I Googled the name of the book to see how it was doing.
