I have tryed to search for this topic but found nothing... (Maybe I did it wrong)

Is there any Hold'em PC-game out there?

Like the chess-games where you play against the computer and/or other players.

Please list the names of these if you know any!

Only one that comes to my mind is Poker Night with David Sklansky, came out in like 1999. I would just play on a web-based program like Party Poker if you need your poker fix, or World Championship Poker (ps2, xbox) isn't bad either..

(YAY 1st post!!)

My father just bought me World Poker Championship for the PC for christmas, and i must say its terrible. It cant even get the math right for much you should win from the pot, It is constantly adding money to the final pot. Example I go all in (Only way to get any action at the first level) with $5000 and 2 people call with $5000. total equal $15000. It ends up being split 2 ways. I now have $12500.

Anyway the level of AI is terrible, the computer will never bet after the flop even with the nuts, it will fold to any significant bet, ie anything larger than pot sized. The first level consists of trying to get from $5,000 to $50,000 to go to the next casino or level. Only way to do this is go all in preflop and the AI will call with terrible hands.Since the computer will not I have gone the the second level but only briefly, It seems a bit better but not fun enough to invest time in.

There is also a flaw in the way the betting. You cannot raise from the big blind if it is just called. Now this is just for the holdem/omaha part of it. The other games 5 card draw and 7 card stud also have errors but i dont want to use anymore time writing about this terrible game.
Now with more Evil and a side of Hatred

The only one I ever bought was Tournament Poker No-Limit Texas Hold-Em for PC. The best quality in that game was being able to create your own tournament. As in you can set the blind structure, starting chips, the field (only 5000 max), make it an R+A, SnG, MTT and so on. The AI on hard level is also decent but not impossible. It's also great for a home game has well because you can set the timer to go off so that you know when the blinds go up. For 10 bucks if you wanna do a home game like that I say it's worth it.

If you play the play-money games on the web its not poker your playing.

The reason I want a PC game is becasuse I wanna become a better odds-calculating player... Play-money players just trash the odds all the time with their bets...

If you play a computer that calculate the odds I belive it's a good teachingtool.
