As the number of tables I'm playing increases it gets really hard to pay attention to pots that I'm not involved with. Since the most crucial mistakes are the ones made for big bets, I try to pay attention to how people play big pots. So I wrote a script to help me with this, basically it grabs the HH from the big pots on all the tables and puts them in a list so I can review them when I'm not in a hand.
Currently only Party Poker is supported. I'm gonna try to add more sites but it's not a huge priority as I play Party almost exclusively these days. If anyone wants to add support for other sites feel free, let's try to make this forum come to life!
As always, comments and suggestions very welcome.

Okay, new version with added Stars support is up on the wiki. Make sure you use PT's Move Processed Hands feature so that only the active session files are in the HH folder. I'll fix this for a later update. For now, try it out and bring bug reports and suggestions to this thread.
I want to eventually make it convert the hand history similar to how the FTR Hand Converter does it to make it easier to read when playing. Other stuff I've thought about is a button to copy a (possibly converted) hand to the clipboard for easy posting on the forum, and a button to clear all the hands from the list. I'll look at FTP support, should be easy and fast now that I know how to do it.
I'm not gonna ask for donations, but if you insist you can probably guess my Stars s/n . Instead I'd like it if you told other people about the tools of poker forum so that we can get more traffic in here. This will lead to other good ideas and good poker software, which will of course benefit us all.
Thanx

Go to PT > Auto Import Stars Hand histories > Move processed files to this folder and choose a folder to have the old session files moved to.

Try to set threshold = 1, that way every pot will be seen as a "big pot" and you should quickly see if it picks up any hands. Make sure you set the starsHistoryPath correctly ie C:\Program Files\PokerStars\HandHistory\redgrape
If you can't get it to work, set "debug_enabled= 1" and mail me the debug.txt file on {pm for email info}
edit: figured I'd remove email addy

Report: Working perfectly
No glitches at all, the thing is exactly what i wanted.
Possible new features: Just possibilities
1. Maybe auto pop up the big pot HH? At first glance it may seem like this would get annoying but i'd like to see it.
2. HH's go away window as soon as u look at it?

Okay, new version is up on the wiki. This is what's new:
1. FullTilt support
2. Option to auto-open new hands when grabbed
3. Option to auto-remove hand from list when HH-window is closed
4. Button to clear hand list
Is number 2 and 3 what you wanted, ISF? If not, please elaborate.
I did not test it very thoroughly, so if anyone comes across a bug let me know in this thread. Thx.

Thanks for the praise and gifts guys. The coding was really not hard at all, but it's always fun when a simple little idea works out. I can't wait to get back to my desktop setup to try out 8-tabling with this thing, sadly I'll be stuck on my 12" laptop for a few weeks more.
I'll be looking at support for the iPoker network next. Keep the suggestions coming, and for the love of God stop CAPSLOCKAMENTS-ing my precious thread .

Can u make one for Bodog?

The flop, turn and river can change everything. It is important to remain objective and remember that the overall goal is to win, not win this specific hand

I'm not playing on Bodog anymore (if someone can tell me how to get reliable rb for an existing account, pm's are welcome). When I played on bodog there was no proper hand histories, but I believe you can get good HHs in real time using Dogwatch now, right? If you mail me some sample histories ({pm for address}) I will put it on the todo list. It will be a low priority though, since I dont play there anymore myself.
New version will be up soon, with option to display HH's similar(-ish) to the FTR Hand Converter output. iPoker writes HH's in xml, so I'm gonna see if I can find a good ahk xml parser to integrate into the script before attempting to write my own. I'm also gonna try and spend a little more time on the poker tables rather than writing code . This means that iPoker support will be postponed for a while.
Thanks again for the kind feedback. As for teaching someone to write scripts, take a look at the tutorials on autohotkey.com. If someone wants to help add to the script code, the wiki page is open for editing by anyone.

Crypto writes HH's to files on disk, right? Should be possible, but will not be a priority because I dont play there much either. Send some sample HH's and I'll put it on the to-do.

Yeah, Prima is on the to-do. Prima uses a database instead of HH-files though, I have no idea how to access those from ahk.
Edit: Using the Prima chat box will work, I'll add Prima support in v1.4. v1.3 with hand converter style and Party HH-files instead of chat box should be up tomorrow.

New version up on the wiki. Added option of converting the hh, plus some other stuff.

I'm pretty much satisfied with the functionality of the script at this point, now I'm just going to try and add support for more sites and fix some minor stuff. If anyone have any suggestions for new features, let's hear 'em!

This is a really mundane and seemingly retarded suggestion but.... can you either.
1. Put the table name on the HH
2. Have the HH pop up in front of the table it was from? (obviously much harder)
When tables are popping up left and right, figuring out the table takes like 5 minutes.
Thanks.

Yea, will do something like this in the next version. Both your suggestions are really easy to do, but I kindof want a middle ground between them. I'm thinking maybe clicking a button that activates the corresponding table or moves the HH in front of it. I'm gonna play around with a few options and put it in the next version.

This is weird. I know about one bug where the pot size isn't read properly when there is a "," in the pot size, but this should only happen in 1k+ pots, which aren't seen that often at 200NL. Also, if the HH window keeps popping up then the pot size is probably read correctly. Are both windows popping up, or just one?
Set debug_enabled = 1, and look at the debug.txt file. Is it writing HH's in there? If it is, then the hh's are properly read and there is an issue with displaying them.
Does it work as before when using convert = 0?

D'oh. I must have broken the Auto Popup New Hand feature so that if you dont use it the hand wont show up. Also the convert feature doesnt seem to be working for stars either. I could've sworned I tested that one properly.
Solution: use autoOpenHH = 1 and convert = 0 until I get a fix up tomorrow.

Relax your mind, young padawan. New version is up on the wiki as of ten minutes ago. Double click the HH text to move the HH on top of the table it came from. If you want the table name in the window title instead it is an easy change, I just thought it would be more funky and less cluttered this way.
Prima support didn't make it into this version, that and fixing a bug on party that makes it not recognize all pots is on the top of the list for next version. I'm planning to do iPoker after Prima, but support for other sites will be far away (if ever) because I don't really play anywhere else.
Adapting the script for other sites isn't very hard to do though. As long as the site provides a fairly simple way to read HH's (ie text file or easily accessible chat window) someone should be able to look at the existing code and add similar code for the new site. If someone wants to have a go and gets stuck in my poorly written code, let me know and I'll try to help.

hey this is awesome, but i can't get it to work perfectly.
i'm using stars, and the HH, when converted, is always trimmed, regardless if there is a 1 or 0 in the settings.
i'm not sure what the problem is, because if i set it to "0" for convert, everything turns out fine...
thanks
