Holdem Manager vs Poker Tracker 3?

Default Holdem Manager vs Poker Tracker 3?

I'm at the point where I want to invest in one of these. I tried the trial version of Poker Tracker 3 and loved it and I recently downloaded Holdem Manager to run the trial version but haven't used it quite yet. I haven't used either of these tools in depth at all and am mainly looking for something that shows an overlay of voluntary played in pots, raises, calls, etc. Is that called a HUD?

Anyway, I heard some people say don't get PT3 and get Holdem Manager. What do you use and why? Also for those who have tried both, what are the pros and cons and what do you suggest? Thanks in advance guys.

Oh and one more question =p. Do any of you play 4+ tables at once without some type of tracking software because I have trouble doing it past 2 tables ( i think im break even 4 tabling over the last 250 games and it sucks )?

I use Holdem Manger and love it. Soooo many features. You really can't go wrong with it and it'll be $55 if you play smallish stakes. All my friends use it as well and love it.

I'm thinking about getting hold'em manager as well. I tried to download the trial and it was crazy-complicated. I shut the program out of confusion, but I'll probably try to install the thing again today when I get off work.

    Anyway, HM looks really useful.

HM is way better, once you get used to the fact that it is not PT. It has a learning curve for sure. I will never go back to PT now.

I 4 table without any software. Absent any reads I play standard and am winning. I do think HM or PT would be helpful in marginal spots. I play on a mac, and these aren't available and I am too lazy to figure out how to run parallels or whatever its called. I heard PT3 would have a mac version but haven't seen it.

Question: Does Hold 'em manager essentially have SNGWiz built inside it?

Plenty of people play without Huds. If you don't want a hud don't run a hud, but having the software to review your play, find leaks and generally improve is something we all need. Even the nosebleeders still use PT or HM to record sessions for review.

Agreed, and I want to get PT3 or HM when/if the mac version comes out. I would love to have additional stats to analyze. I guess I could figure out how to run these on a mac, just a pain in the ass. I tried MacPoker Pro but was not a fan.

At a glance when I opened HM last night it was very complicated. I guess I'll read the users manual before I try to use it. However what I did notice is that for each hand there were $ amounts that were either - or +. I'm not sure if this meant chips but I certainly am playing just SnG's and not cash games. The hand histories looked pretty weird and ugly to boot. Guess I'll get used to it.

Anyway, I see that most here prefer HM but I still don't have any reasons why one prefers it over PT. Still looking for those reasons.
