    Default Poker on the Road.........Literally

As I'm sure you all know I'm situated in England right now. And on Monday, I will be making the 5 hour journey from my residence to Alton Towers! Woohoo!

There are 4 of us going in one car, and I'll be sitting in the back with my poker playing mate. So we've decided that since the car we are going in is pretty meaty we are gonna play a bit of poker on the road! Just for fun...no money involved. It will be pretty easy, the board and pot can go on the middle seat and there is easily enough room to get our stack either side of that next to us. Me thinks the day will be fun!

I'll tell you on Tuesday how the Alton Towers trip and the poker filled journey goes. Hey, maybe poker on the road is the next big thing?

Oh and for all you adrenaline junkies, yes I will be going on Oblivion and Nemesis and all the others.

That sounds fantastic. Please do write us a casino review once you've checked it out, Toasty.

Sure will dude ill take my Digi camera and get you some pics.

I just chesked it on the web and the casino will be the west stand not under the pitch.

apparently new casinos attract a lot of fish, so I'll hopefully be playing lots of live games, its about a 10 min drive max!!!

looking forward to the concerts they host there too I could walk home

Wow. Having a casino and concert venue within walking distance of your home is swank.

O I forgot to add its against the house rules to tip the dealers in the UK so as long as the rake isn't crazy the LL games should be easier to beat than US casinos.

    I'm back!

To be quite honest, the day was a bit of a disaster and the poker was about the best thing to come out of it.

I played heads up No Limit Holdem on the way and then the same on the way back but we played about half an hour of Limit Omaha Hi/Lo, so that was pretty fun.

    Now for the disaster part....

We arrived at Alton Towers to be greeted with light rain. That didn't really bother us and we started going on the rides etc. for about 3 hours or so. Then we stopped at KFC for lunch.

THEN it started to tip it down with rain, so we pretty much could not go on any outside rides.

Then the lightning storm started, so all rides were closed. Now it was about 3pm so we decided to call it a day. We took shelter in a toilet while the storm passed right over our heads then we legged it over to the car.

As anyone who's been to Alton Towers knows, the theme park is situated in a tiny little village, called Alton. Now since it had been tipping it down with rain for an hour or so this tiny village had what we in Britain call flash floods. The roads turned into rivers that were about a foot deep. After making an attempt to drive upstream through one of these 'rivers' the engine promptly conked out. We were stranded for a good 5 hours before the AA sorted our car out and the floods had been cleared as best as possible. Then we went home, sopping wet, but happily playing poker!

Oh and not to mention we got held up for another two hours after that because there was a fatal crash on the M1 and it was closed!

    Bad day, good poker!

Yep I went on Nemesis, Air, Oblivion, Black Hole, Corkscrew, but my personal favourite is still the Teacups!
