ATliens is consistently good but idk about the others. not to say that the other two aren't good, but i dont think that they are consistently good enough for me to say that they are the best. outkast puts out a lot of shitty songs .

I've always been a fan of Eminem. However one album I absolutely am in love with is "Saul Williams - The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust!" which can be downloaded free and legally at http://www.niggytardust.com (or you can choose to donate $5). I don't even know how many times I have heard this album now, but it has be nearing 100 times+.

Rap isn't even my favorite genre of music, but this is near the top of my favorite albums from any artist/band.

Biggie -Ready to Die, Life After Death | Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt, The Black Album | Outcast - Aquemini, ATLiens | Tsuchie & Nujabes & Fat Jon (Samurai Champloo Music Record, Instrumentals Only) These guys have some of the sickest beats I've ever heard, :example: | Snoop Dogg - R & G | 2Pac - Thug Love Vol. 1

What's the diff between Hip Hop & Rap?

Everything I was thinking of when I opened this thread has been mentioned already.

    Atmosphere - Lucy Ford EP
    Eminem - Infinite

Idk will. Pretty much all every song on the first 3 outkast CD's are chronic. And it's hard to argue that any of the CD's are that much better than the others.

Oh and Big L: life styles of the poor and dangerous, and the big picture are way up on the best ever list.

And I think kanye deserves a slot whether you like him or not. Im not sure which album I think is the best, but they all have such nice flow and are never choppy.

oh and come on guys; THE SCORE, nuff said.

I can't really think of a top 10 but considering we are talking olderish/classicish and not present time i would say cd's by:
    Notorious BIG
    Bone Thugs N Harmony
    Twista
    2pac
    Big L
    Outkast
    Shyne
Anything detroit/michigan (herk , dayton family , madewest , any street lords , etc etc)
Weak list , and im prob. missing a lot of my other favs.
    Present time
Any mixtape by Crooked I and Ransom.
Crooked I is from cali and killing it on mixtapes. I can't think of another rapper right now touching him besides...
Ransom from Jersey who is sicccckkkkkk.

I can't believe some of you have lists that don't inclue Nas. You can't have a rap/hip hop thread with mentioning Nas.

I am going to give some of these a listen, I have never been into Hip Hop at all, my only experience really listening to a whole hip hop album and enjoying it has been P.O.S. - Audition and Ipecac Neat

They are good. I really like Slingblade, Glen Close and Solar Powered.

One of the dudes from the group, OneBeLow recently put out some solo shit that's pretty good too.

Midget: good list and I love the Roots but Phrenology as number 1 is pretty agressive
