How fucked up is that? Excuse me sir, you're Syrian, not Bangladeshi, please fuck off.
I can't believe he's actually a serious contender. It's like a joke that keeps on going, and never gets funny.

1. The timing has been perfect for Trump to gain a ton of momentum. The line-up of competition in terms of Republican contenders is especially weak, and running as a Republican gives him the advantage in the sense that there's been a Democrat in the White House for the past eight years. The timing of the ISIS shit is really coming to a head as well, and it's perfect background fodder for him to push his advantage.
2. His boldness is his main advantage, and it's something that's not readily available for other politicians because they have to think of their careers after the election. The things that he's done that's gotten him the most attention would be career suicide for his competition, so he basically has a set of tools at his disposal that aren't available to the other contenders. This is probably the single most important factor in his success so far in this election cycle.
3. He can pass himself off as knowing a lot about business and leverage that in ways that the competition cannot because of his family name, which is clearly his biggest asset overall.
4. Trump has some big advantages against both Hillary and Bernie that would give him a decent chance of winning the general election. With Hillary, he would tear her apart left, right and center, and I don't think anyone doubts that because she has a history of not being able to handle that type of pressure. With Bernie, it would be branded as capitalism vs. socialism, and there's no way around it.
5. The big question is whether there's a huge divide between the people who support him and the people who will actually turn up and vote. We won't know how big this divide is (or if there's much of a divide at all) until the primaries start.
