Did I screw up by not reraising/pushing the turn and having only called to fold river? I sort of froze when the board paired and saw him lead turn.

I reraise him preflop normally.
Don't call the turn if you don't plan on calling a river push.
With a shortie I would rather see if I can call him down cheap rather than raise the flop. But I have such bad luck with these guys lately that might be scared advice.
