Villian is a semi Loose to loose tag -- 30/20 over 200 hands. If it matters villian is Fgators26 of BBV fame. I rarely slow play, but decided to in this case.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Hero ($99.20)
Button ($100.80)
SB ($41.20)
BB ($100)
UTG ($393.45)
MP ($104.60)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A, K.
2 folds, Hero raises to $3, Button calls $3, 2 folds.

Flop: ($7.50) K, J, K (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $6, Hero calls $6.

Turn: ($19.50) 6 (2 players)
Hero bets $14, Button raises to $40, Hero ??

this a push or fold situation. "Why didn't u 3-bet him on the flop", that would make ur decision alot easier on the turn. have u seen any previous hands shown down in which he called a pre-flop raise with?? he may think ur BS since u checked and only called the flop... as played I'd FOLD, cause when i make a mistake in how i play a certain hand i do not want to compound that with losing a buy-in because of my stupidity.

Weird hand. Your turn bet looks weird and he might have interpreted it as weak. I'm shoving this. He probably 3-bets you preflop with JJ and if he has 66, you deserve to go broke here. Other than that, you're ahead unless you got really unlucky and he has KJ.

I really find it hard to believe that villain would have KJ and bet $6 on the flop into a $7.50 pot, when you checked to him. There's no way villain has J's or KJ ..

I think you gotta push this turn, and if he somehow caught his set with 6's, then good hand.

You're ahead, I'm pretty sure.

betting the flop is overwhelmingly the best play here imo.

As played I call the turn, and consider checking/calling the river.

If he's smart it isn't. He wants to build a pot.
Yeah I bet the flop, and I probably shove too. Your hand is underrepped, He's probably easily going to do this with KQ or some loose call with KT, or he could have some junk draw.
Check out the new blog!!!

I push... Could be KQ, KT, QThh... there are a lot of hands you beat here, all of which call a push. I don't think you should wait till the river.

I just tried a different line, 9 times out of 10 I bet the flop or check raise it. I pushed on the turn after his raise, he showed JJ

... and you spiked a 6 to win? =)

wow.. I'm surprised villain had JJ. Well good for him, for pounding a flopped boat so hard.

Just out of curiosity, if we're in villains position, do other ppl bet so hard on that flop, facing a check from the PF raiser?

From villain's perspective, is this one of those instances where "If he has a king, he'll call any size bet, and if he doesn't have a king, he'll fold any size bet"? So if you overbet on the flop, opponent might not put you on such a strong hand (ie: me assuming he didn't have a boat, given his flop bet size)

yes. Hero either has a big hand or nothing and JJ is getting paid or is geting nothing, hence hit and hope.
