I hate these spots.

A villain with those stats is capable of taking this line with any two.
Thus, you are ahead of his range, IMO.
I call turn.

this is an expensive bet to call. villain is betting this river 100% unless he's got air.

We're losing to QJ and 44. When a bluffy guy like this makes these kinds of bets when 2 hands are beating us i tend to look him up. c/r the turn seems to be ur best bet.
Check out the new blog!!!

Blind war. I definately take it to the river. Just not sure if I want it all in or not on the turn. Guess it depends on what you've seen of his play thus far.

hahaha yea I tend to push flop here a lot also, but I also take a line like this sometimes. First, the 4 is a great turn for you, so I would be thinking not (can I fold?? Do I have the best hand??) but more how can I get the most value from villain's hand range.

I personally think your best line as played is to call turn and call any river bet when the river isnt a club. villain like this is likely to shove a missed draw on a blank river imo. You may also get him to value bet KQ, which he probably folds to a shove if you have a nitty image.

However, my favorite line in these spots (probably even more than pushing flop) is to call the flop raise and donk turn for btw 1/2 and 2/3 pot, so 60 or 70 seems good here and induce a shove from all draws + even most queens/ complete air. Your goal in this hand really should be to induce villain to put all his chips in the middle on the turn as opposed to call off all of his chips on the turn, and especially with stats like these...
He will probably fold all queens except AQ, QJ, and call with any 4 if you shove the turn. That in of itself doesnt make the play -ev, because his range is so dominated by various draw: KT, T9, combo draws, club draws, weaker shit like AJ, JT which you all price out. The only thing better than pricing these weak hands out though is inducing them to shove with imagined fold equity, which he is going to do often with an AF of four, and I'm guessing you have a semi weak image. Example:

Villain in hand is NoYouWont, a 27/21ish, decent but imo overly aggressive 5/10 reg. My image is probably weaker than usual as I am on a gigantic downswing:

Sauce, when a player knows that you're a regular, are these lines not obvious to them at mid-stakes that you're purposely looking weak?

meh, sometimes I am weak. Basically if they adjust by folding/calling a wide range to 1/2 pot turn bets etc, then I can re-adjust by bluffing with a very wide range until they re-adjust etc. Essentially, by playing very weakly when I "look" like I am trying to induce something then they give up even more than when they play aggressively. I cant find a hand right now but ill post one sometime.
